I don't suppose that it's all plain sailing but the TND Update of 28 May suggested that supply-wise things were starting to get back to normal:

'The impact of COVID-19 on the Group's trading has been mixed. Bicycle sales have been materially higher with year to date revenue 77% ahead of the prior year and the forward order book significantly higher than last year to date. This has invariably placed a strain on the supply chain where we are working hard to replenish stocks as quickly as possible which has been hampered by the various degrees of lockdown in our countries of supply.

Online sales, both direct to consumer and with our national retailer partners have also been strong. Outdoor products, including Hedstrom and Airwave outdoor play, Kickmaster football training, Airwave trampolines, spas, gazebos and parasols have sold well as have a number of our Jack Stonehouse domestic electrical appliances. Although the supply chain from China suffered in the early part of the year, this is now broadly back to normal with regular supplies being received.'

It's two months since this update - so one might expect that the supply situation has improved. Has anyone got further light to shed on this?

So the bike manufacturers and wholesalers with established supply lines from overseas and who realised that stocks would be depleted in March and April will have put in large orders to be shipped and arriving now and through the Summer ie. Tandem PLC

Low stocks and high demand will mean higher margins and zero discounts.

If Tandem cannot do really well in these market conditions then we need to be asking why? I think the new team and a pragmatic approach to risk will pay dividends

This could be taken as negativity, or just plain fact, im just stating as fact, they have no stock. They always manage stocks tightly and take minimal risks, i am just highlighting that for you guys expecting huge dividends and a huge share price spike you are likely to get your fingers burned very badly.

You sold out in a well timed sale in January.

Can I ask why did you ever buy TND shares when it would appear you have not a single good word to say about them.

You only post about TND and then its pretty negative.

There are many changes to be made and some of your points have merit.

However as I often say to my board members " Give me solutions "

TND is a very cheap company trading at NAV with significant upside with the right team.
Changes are being made......watch this space

Indonews......What makes you think they have no stock? Demand for bikes did not start yesterday and has been at a high point for the last four months now so any supply orders made in March/April will now be arriving.

That will not help Tandem, they have no stock, all bikes are from Bangladesh mainly now so lead times are 120 days minimum, they will see little benefit from the boom in cycle sales as they cannot react quick enough, neither can their supply chain.

I guess we also need to be respectful of the fact that with certain areas of the business booming there may be changes to margins achieved. Hopefully we are able to get better end prices online with zero or minimal discounting if demand is there.

If we achieve 50 p the shares are trading just under 6.
Market cap is about NAV
By any number of valuation methods the shares are at least £2 under fair value.
As can be seen a few small buys can push the price as the MM pathetic attempt at running a decent book here.
Let’s flush some sellers out

Prehaps this lot wouldn't mind a job a Bisichi. For every penny in dividends 20p goes to directors in Salaries with a further 10p in expenses and pensions. Sound familiar? It won't be long before they start loaning out cash at zero interest to other unconnected but related business interest here at Tandem imo.

Halfords update.....Surging sales of bicycles during lockdown have cushioned the trading blow from coronavirus for retailer Halfords.

It said bike sales had risen 57.1% in the 13 weeks to 3 July as people sought to avoid public transport.

This could be good news for Tandem if they can get selling to the rental companies.....two of the trial regions are close to the Tandem HQ so hopefully looking into it.
