28/5/2020 08:17 | I think Halfords was and remains to be the place to be if your interested in the covid driven bicycle boom. Not only to Halfords command their own supply chain, they have shops in every town selling bicycle accessories and offering bicycle repairs and servicing. Perfect for the governments new £50 voucher scheme. | my retirement fund
28/5/2020 08:00 | i am not a share holder but I have been watching recently in the aim of investing for the future as I think this industry is on the doors of exceptional growth , however in the short term today's rns is an indirect profit warning ... so for a new investor its a good entry point after it settle down around the 200 pence mark . | naplion
28/5/2020 07:53 | bwm2 I think that the exit from the current lockdown will gather momentum as it becomes clear that other countries which have suffered very high rates of infection have been able to open shops and even restaurants without any recurrence of the virus. This has been achieved with some precautions but not particularly burdensome ones. I expect the statistics to look much better in the UK over the next couple of weeks and then optimism will return. Tandem had a good first half last year so to match it under the circumstances is a fine achievement. | amt
28/5/2020 07:44 | Amt - thankyou I'm just extremely cautious and very pessimistic for the future | bwm2
28/5/2020 07:36 | bwm2. Why would you cut costs in a business that is expanding and has come through the worst of the Coronavirus with sales actually ahead of last year. The shops will be opening up soon and if the UK follows the rest of Europe things will soon start to get back to something resembling normality. If looks to me like it will be about getting sufficient stock of bikes to meet demand that will be crucial. | amt
28/5/2020 07:30 | Reassuring update. Huge surge in bike sales but supply issues as expected. Toy sales down as expected but I should think once the toy shops open up there should be a rapid recovery. Anyway its normally the run up to Christmas that is important for that side of the business. If they can resolve the bike supply then it should be a good year. | amt
28/5/2020 07:25 | The update seems to shrug off the effect of covid cf other company announcements. Unless I have missed it, I have not seen any RNS on cost cutting measures. If I was a significant holder, this is one company AGM that I would wish to attend. Would welcome any feedback from those attending. Many thanks | bwm2
27/5/2020 07:18 | Well done Tiger. Its turning from a good investment into a great investment. Pe is probably still only 6 or 7 plus strong balance sheet. | amt
26/5/2020 15:49 | 14.19.40 is a buy not a sell It was one of mine tiger | castleford tiger
26/5/2020 14:55 | Such a low PE, sweet spot sector, Goldilocks company. Let’s see whether it’s run by a load of old duffers or a bunch of wizz kids! | niggle
26/5/2020 14:36 | I have made further purchases today. One as yet un-reported........ I am pretty sure we might touch 300p today before we "scoot" along to nearer 400p as the lock down comes to a close tiger | castleford tiger
25/5/2020 18:05 | Well said Tiger. I am sure they will be leaving no stone unturned to get stock. | amt
25/5/2020 14:45 | please advise as I will not be able to attend this year but would be good for Zoom. I understand that we too are bringing "air freight" in but perhaps we don't feel the need to share. Tandem are aware that what they say is often used against them in trade dealings. On this one I agree......get the job done and let the results speak later. tiger | castleford tiger
25/5/2020 14:02 | The Agm is next month on 25th June so maybe they will do a full update then. I have asked for a presentation and hopefully we will be able to hold a proper self distanced meeting as lockdown will have eased for those happy to travel. Alternatively maybe a Zoom Agm. | davidosh
24/5/2020 14:25 | Agreed, very poor communication - they really exhibit complete disregard for their shareholders. | maddox
24/5/2020 07:52 | Still bo up date from the company, mean while I see the government has decided to copy France with some £50 bike voucher to alleviate demand so old bikes can get repaired and I also read that Halfords is flying in bikes by Air themselves, including from brand new suppliers such as Turkey. All this and a deafening silence from Tandem ! That cannot be good! | my retirement fund

22/5/2020 14:24 | Looking like an all time high here. In my time as a shareholder over past 15 years anyway. | davidosh
19/5/2020 16:47 | Of course the bureaucrats solution to this is to have a 20mph speed limit and then not enforce it for cyclists ... And then watch the pedestrian injuries rise as they are hit by cyclists | 18bt
19/5/2020 15:50 | Friend's daughter is a surgeon in SE London, getting more serious cycling injures in, cars are driving faster on empty roads. K. | kramch
19/5/2020 14:57 | Do they not have statistics for 2019 by now? With far less cars on the roads over the last two months and ten times more cyclists do we think the stats will improve or get worse? | davidosh
19/5/2020 11:33 | Police statistics collected and just published by the Department for Transport (DfT) tell us that: 99 cyclists died on Britain's roads in 2018, two fewer than in 2017 (-2%); 3,707 were seriously and 13,744 slightly injured.3 Surprising less than 2 deaths a week, only 11 seriously injured a day Would have expected more | haroldthegreat
18/5/2020 21:26 | Electric bikes will be flying out of the door too... | davidosh
