DD has details of my holdings so he can update it for me. Looking forward to the AGM.

dd - there was an opportunity, one which does not come around very often with this sort of share, and with it being as illiquid as it is. Keeping some of my cash spare just in case my hunch about the £ / $ is right, I will look to add even more on weakness. Now do I want to meet the company?

Yikes gg. you do not mess about do you ? I hope you will have a Gladstone success and more here. A new holdings RNS would be a rarity at TND.

Technology? LOL! It's so simple that even a complete technophobe like myself can do it. If you can write, you can manage it :-)

Look forward to the RNS.

Technology - Ooh, don't like that. However, you will soon see an RNS coming out regarding my new shareholding in TND. I will wait for you to read rather than tell you what it is.

supreme mo.....The directors are currently in a closed period as the results are due next month or the first week in May at the latest. The year end was six weeks ago so they are pretty much aware of the final outcome now. About time you entered all your holdings on the site as we need to know shareholders views using the comments tab and also how strong our core holders are.

There are quite a few who post regularly that have not entered anything by name here such as...

wiganer (who started the thread)
amt
puffintickler
empirestate
scburbs
mudbath
wapper
taffee
simso
balcony
21simthy
LPF

Sadly Walker10 who used to be a very regular contributor here is no longer with us and died quite suddenly last year.

Nice to see Skegbyhouse a very well respected investor on TMF registering his support today. There are still quite a few from here who have not entered anything yet though.

GG, are you thinking of buying in? What are your thoughts on the company? You have mail dozy dealer ;-)

have held these for some time now - clearly plenty of NAV and I don't think the numbers are as bad as the fall in share price suggests.

David... could you e-mail me your mobile number again - my phone has been playing up and have lost half of my numbers.

I think gg. is keen to buy in size if anyone is looking to sell though I do not think the sellers actually read these boards so probably ineffective mentioning it here. There was a late sale shown at 62p so who knows what tomorrow will bring but with the shares falling off by nearly 30% on absolutely no news over the last month the buyers may play a waiting game.

Maybe this is what is needed as a different perspective NED wise..

Picked up 9k shares earlier at 66p. Cheap stock in size now available for any buyers keen to pick up a holding. Hopefully we can nudge above the 10% level and put some pressure on the board.

The appreciation of the $ is really going to hurt TND, I will spend some time after the weekend trying to quantify the numbers. One of the avenues open for shareholders is an open letter to the Chairman regarding the poor performance, which could be published in the FT.

This is the most public way of forcing their hand, however, you would need two things:

1) A significant holding
2) £££'s to publish in the FT

dd - I think I have your mobile number, so will try it on Monday.

Cheers

Stemis....there was some guidance from directors at the interims.

'The start of the second half of the year was affected by poor weather suppressing demand. The situation has since improved and we therefore expect to achieve a satisfactory result for our bicycles and accessories businesses for the full year.'

Plus...

'Trading conditions continue to be demanding and every effort is being made to maintain a level of profitability, generate cash and increase shareholder value.'

In 2008 (to 31 January) the pbt was £1.12m. Last year we had pbt £1.018m

At the halfway stage the pbt was 547k compared with 451k the previous year so surely well on the way to another million pbt if guidance and the half way figures are to be used by shareholders as indications of full year profit.

As the directors have very good management systems and will be well on the way through the audit with results due next month I think they should be advising the market if they have fallen significantly below the level of profitability achieved last year.

It was they after all who used the term...'maintain a level of profitability' and when I checked that meant in line with previous years.....and certainly not just be profitable !!!

Surely the advisors would request a trading update if H2 was actually loss making or significantly different to H1 as the trend was for increased profits ?
