Short positions reached 2.9% in mid July.

Two months later shorts have now significantly reduced to 1.88%


A positive sign as TalkTalk has rallied strongly.

Yesterday 12/9 Deutsche Bank REITERATED its BUY RECOMMENDATION on TalkTalk with an unchanged PRICE TARGET of 180p.


Deutsche Bank see a massive c.40% UPSIDE to current share price .

Looking strong again. Seems to be prone to these little spikes up. Someone trying to reduce a short position perhaps - or Toscafund back in the market?

Price looking stronger and TalkTalk has staged a strong recovery since the beginning of the year.

At the current 130p, those (including especially Sir Charles and ToscaFund) who partook handsomely in the recent 107p fund-raising have already seen a 22% return on their investment in six months.

Deutsche Bank with a 173p Price Target and Barclays at 150p point the way.


With ToscaFund looming large and ominous with its rapidly built 16.2% stake, there is still a lot to play for and more action to come.

With some major deal/operational news due, ie M&G, tosca adding every dip, brokers upping the price AND a brexit deal V likely these large shorts will get toasted before the year is out imo.

Total declared shorts 2.6% perhaps, but according to Euroclear, 8% or so of the shares out on loan on average in July.

And 84% or so of the shares held by the top 6 holders.

I think if it breaks 1.36 then it will go to 1.40
