What irritates me is that the government investment (as you point out) while considerable, is in late stage care, rather than early intervention for the mild/moderate community cases (where, of course, SNG001 is targeted).

As I have suggested elsewhere, why not conduct a trial in care homes, where the vulnerable ‘patients̵6; are closely monitored, almost in a community setting, and the data can be collected in an organised and straightforward way?

Sorry, I could have been clearer. The UK government has signed contracts for at least three different vaccines, with each contract covering enough doses to inoculate the whole population. So they are not trying to predict which one will work or work best. Hence my point about not putting all their eggs in one basket.

A vaccine is better than a cure, clearly. It does not though mean that UK government are not making significant investment in treatments as we have witnessed in the creation of Nightingale hospitals, investment in ventilators etc.
