16/11/2023 10:07 | Or even UK coys such as Melrose or private equity coys such as Jim Ratcliffe Great potential provided they can sort out the production glitches. That is a very BIG provided. | pugugly
16/11/2023 10:06 | Not being an expert in the field - Much has been made of the tall 'barriers of entry' aspect and I fervently hope they are real. Do they concern the expense of environmental standards that need to be satisfied, or the technical know how connected to making the product/s, or both ? And - are there others ? | emeraldzebra
16/11/2023 09:53 | On a separate tack, I note today that another UK stock (Hotel Chocolat) has been taken out at a massive premium (165% increase) to its closing price. Bought out by Mars. This is becoming the norm in the UK. Great companies strong in niche areas (despite struggling to turn a profit due to expansion and growth strategy) with only their downsides factored in by the dullards in the City being snapped up gleefully at 2 or 3 times their quoted value by mainly shrewd overseas operations. I would suggest the uniqueness and high barriers of entry at SCE (somewhat more substantial than chocolate making) demonstrate how attractive SCE must be looking to potential predators right now. | bones
16/11/2023 08:31 | Stevgaytrader faking to be me. Poor little scouse charver. Outplayed, out thought. Known as the Hindsight trader ...bless. | amanitaangelicus
16/11/2023 08:18 | Agree with Albert here. It’s the one referred to already. A nomination which seems to make a contract a formality. But that still makes two nomination/contracts altogether from GM with the first one having SOP planned currently in 2024. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with GM having our backs! Isn’t OEM8 Tesla? We have £100M plus from that one and it’s the main demand so far in current production. All this code wording is very nice but it’s hardly not in the public realm even if the company is required to keep using the OEM numbers. | bones
16/11/2023 08:15 | Albert It did seem a coincidence but how has it gone from a contract announced a while back to an expected contract now ? | amt
16/11/2023 08:09 | amt, I think they are referring to the £100m deal recently announced not a new one. | albert_einstein
16/11/2023 07:13 | Pity it's not Tesla but to get 2 * 100m orders, one confirmed and the other coming soon shows confidence in the production. | amt
16/11/2023 07:02 | It’s General Motors | pinkfoot2
15/11/2023 23:04 | This is the likely contract that they didn't mention in the trading update which if they had might of supported the share price. "with a new nomination as OEM 10's tier one supplier of a carbon ceramic brake discs in 2023 which is expected to result in a new GBP100 million lifetime contract awarded by OEM 10 with SOP anticipated to begin in 2027." They mentioned on 16th October they won a 100 m contract, so when the above is announced that's 200m in quick order. | amt
15/11/2023 21:12 | Thanks, doubt I will buy unless the market price holds where it is now | amt
15/11/2023 21:08 | My broker stated: “Your account will be credited with 1 basic entitlement share for every 12.08666165 ordinary shares you hold as of the ex-entitlement date, 16 November 2023. These entitlement shares are expected to be credited to your account on or around 17 November 2023 and this will form your basic entitlement, which will not be subject to scaling back. You will also be credited with excess entitlement shares which will allow you to apply for shares in excess of your basic entitlement but excess applications are subject to scaling back.” | bones
15/11/2023 20:58 | Think that all starts on 17th, Friday. The firm placing has to close first. | bones
15/11/2023 20:55 | Nothing on Hargreaves or IG but Hargreaves tell me they are aware and will be putting it up soon | bagpuss67
15/11/2023 20:49 | I was wondering about that | volsung
15/11/2023 19:47 | Has anyone received the offer paperwork to buy shares | amt
15/11/2023 19:32 | Usual drivel from Amanitaagelicus aka longterm1, Paul russ1, sentiment riles, voicing dissent and his other 30+ fake ID’s. Ignore this TIT- he pollutes bulletin boards doesn’t trade as is a pure fantasist- AVOID | amaniitaangelicus
15/11/2023 19:05 | Yes it's cost them £220,000 in paper loss and a 40% permanent loss due to dilution of about 120k if I did my sums correctly. | amt
15/11/2023 18:06 | Say what you like about SCE but the directors put their money where their mouth is. Before the recent take up of rights there had been significant purchases at 33p | volsung
15/11/2023 15:49 | Looks like a good flow of small buys going through. I doubt it's a broker support operation,that would happen nearer 10p. | alfriston2
15/11/2023 15:16 | Or it's a broker support operation. Or of course, just noise. | supernumerary |
