I suspect you're right igoe104 - thinking about it I may well hold SUR for a guaranteed few per cent return with no selling costs. From a personal perspective I'm certainly in no need of cash following the KAPE takeover and selling of substantial holdings in AVCT, CLX and ADF.

The market feels like waiting a few weeks to sell and buy something else might not be my worst idea. It may become a worst idea if / when one of the alternatives is a t /o candidate before I buy.

If you sell now you get £123.7 plus costs. Whilst wait acouple of months you get £1.25 no costs.

Depends if you see something really cheap, and can't wait...

Its been a frustrating share at times, and going to drag every bit i can out of them..

Might cash in myself soon - doesn't look like any further action/offers here. Oh well, it was a very good run.

Agreed - take the money and look for a new bargain I've held since lakehouse was 30p so a decent return. I might see what Slater has bought recently. Theyre investments are worth following imho

The irrevocable undertakings do lapse if a third party offer for Sureserve is declared unconditional (see Appendix 3 to the RNS), but that's going to be hard to achieve with so much of the shareholder base having already signed up to this deal imo.

I’m not sure this is even a possibility now the way the rns is worded (irrevocably)

It seems from some comments that the bid of 125p does not over-value the Company. In that case, perhaps another bid could be received but, in my ignorance, I ask what the time scale is for another bid to be received and could this be likely?

They are printed as buys but they are in fact
sells .

Can anyone explain why there is so much buying today at this price 123? 1 million buy gone through

Took Winks advice ... cash today is worth more than promise ... and sold up. Can't imagine a better bid. A nice gain, the proceeds very welcome.

Rivaldo,
Thanks, yes I did mean RNWH. Historically very strong on the quality metrics, again it's a niche skillset in a market place where there is much to do. I call it a no brainer.

CAPD is one I held years ago, the CEO at the time would reply directly (and promptly) to any shareholder enquiry emails I sent. He is Chairman I believe now. It's done well.

I will look at those others, thanks.

Doobz, Antanatar,
Thanks for suggestions and comments. Time for some research.

Have to agree with Rivaldo regarding further investment both SYS and TST are good opportunities, especially SYS

PM a counter bid might be unlikely, but given the strength of Sur I really think a failed bid here is very unlikely as well so seems pretty risk free if you wanna wait it out

I have done my usual when i get a bid, sell half , 123.3, and keep half in the hope of a better offer from a new suitor, although that would seem very unlikely and obviously ATM there is no chance of an increased bid.
BTW all the sells being printed are virtually all buys.

I'm holding here and not selling in the market. It either collapses nd we know what the business is worth and value will out - this is a low risk chance. Or we get 125p in a few weeks. Or other bids come in, very unlikely but you never know...

Thanks Rivaldo will take a look at the list of companies you listed. In my portfolio cnic is probably the most likely candidate

I think the chance of a successful counter bid is effectively zero, given the irrevocable commitments.

Buying at the current price of 123.37p for 125p in ten weeks time is a 1.3% return (6.5% annual return). There is some small risk it will fall through so it needs to be discounted a bit.

I think I'll to hold for the extra return unless I see a better place for my money.

Interesting:

"Although the 125p-per-share offer is well above where Sureserve shares were trading when markets closed yesterday, Peel Hunt research analyst Andrew Nussey said the deal undervalued the firm. He said a rival bid could not be ruled out, though he noted that other possible suitors would have already had a chance to kick the tyres."
