Is anyone holding out for these to potentially bid higher or counter. Or is it largely a dead cert it'll go through at these levels. I can never really gauge it

Well done Rivaldo and many on this thread .There is currently a seller in kino (I hold a large amount ) but any idea why this is on such a low rating apart from the construction shambles ? To me it looks like a prime bid candidate. may drift to 35p but surely at that price it's a buy ? Interested in your thoughts ,thanks

Thorpematt, did you mean RNWH? If so I certainly agree - much undervalued imho and also been mentioned as a potential bid target in the past by various brokers.

TST and SYS have both just announced good news and are both rather good value imho, along with the likes of CAPD, DKL, MWE, REAT and CNIC as examples.

infastructure / energy transition.

I agree that CTO is in a very good niche and extremly cheap given the fact.

RNHW is another play in my portfolio, I need a to replace SUR now, suggestions anyone?

Yes, echo the sentiments already shared here…..bittersweet is a good way to sum it up….

More than happy to take a very decent profit at 125p. Well done to all long term holders that kept their patience.

Anybody have an ideas for reinvestment? VLX? CNIC?

Suppose its worth taking a fresh look at those in similar sectors- seems to be a slight resurgence in the low (lowish) margin contract/servicing businesses after years of missteps- the COST, MER, CTO types

I retain the impression that SUR was the best of the bunch

Echoing the views expressed - it's a "bittersweet" event. But nothing I can do - accept and move on...

Good news this morning, the share price was going nowhere. Shame about the missed dividends.

The 2 big holders are selling so done deal anyway, just wish it had happened in 2022.

At 125p the premium to the share price is around 40%, which is pretty good compared to the usual 25%-30%. But then that just shows how undervalued the share price was in the first place.

I note that Slater and Harwood are taking the money and running.

If SUR had succeeded in the acquisitions that were hoped for (and/or to divest the non-core businesses) it's possible that the share price would already be at 110p-120p and the bid would be a non-starter at this level. Hmmmm.

It’s a reasonable offer imo though I don’t doubt long term holders will feel slightly disappointed given the companies prospects, certainly a lot better than the derisory I am being forced to take over at KAPE. Does give me some unexpected funds to allocate which is nice.
