Good morning Steve,

The Pro Active link works fine on iii.

Read your 4141 post and agree with your conclusion that JP feels less than comfortable in media/public situations, however I don't see this as a total negative. At the time of the AGM he was suffering from one of those horrible 'summer flu' like infections, which probably explains how that awful RNS got past him, and he struggled a bit at times (I'm certain jet lag would not have helped), but he did his very best to carry on. Nor did he avoid the private meeting we had prior to the kick off, even though he knew I was furious about the RNS.

This lack of 'polish' is evident with LH and JM as well, I think it is born of careers of actually getting down and doing grunt work, instead of flitting around the bars of Mayfair and St James talking what Marab has so accurately described as 'Quality BS. AB is in a different league, but with his background that is to be expected.

I think that what came through on that Pro Active interview was exactly as you described it "was a genuine amd steely conviction, a clear focus on profitable and reasoned strategy and , a real dose of honesty". For me, as one of the rare stockholders who has met them all, and one of those who were suckered in by PH, it is the honesty that meant the most.

Steve its always nice to pick up a new skill ;-)

I don't think a Friday RNS is a good idea as it normally suggests bad news, especially if it turns up after the markets close. If its good news its generally wasted. Still its better to have an update whenever it comes than to have to wait for the interim accounts for news.

SML's timing with RNSs is erratic to say the least. Another indicator of either a lack of understanding of AIM or a problem with the nomad.

Steve totally agree with you about JP. One only has to look at the interviews that PH gave to watch quality BS in action. Lies and half truths flowed from him with relaxed ease. SML still lacks a front man that knows how AIM works but they have said they are still looking for a UK director.

SML needs someone who knows the basic rules of playing the AIM market which include-

It ain't what you do it's the way that you do it
It ain't what you do it's the time that you do it
It ain't what you do it's the place that you do it

Steve if people just want to find that interview they can click on the second last item (PROACTIVE VIDEO 27 JULY 2015) under USEFUL LINKS in the header here.

ADVFN won't let you paste any link to Proactive but you can use Tinyurl to make a link that you can use on ADVFN.

You may be right, marab.
Does anyone know how to post a link to the Pro Active interview - which I found very interesting - on this board that actually works on advfn.
The only think I can suggest is going to the Pro Active website, searching for SML, and findingthe interviewt there in the last heading / section titled "Media".
Of course, we all know that every AIM Director will try to talk his Company up - and some are very good at it.
My view is that John Peters is in no way a good front man - he lacks charisma and I don't think he feels comfortable in those situations, but what did come across to me was a genuine amd steely conviction, a clear focus on profitable and reasoned strategy and , a real dose of honesty which I really found unusual.three lines
PS - I don't know if this will work, but, if you type in the following in sequence, although I have enetered them separately, it may get past the advfn system - dunno !!

Just checked - if you copy and paste the above in its entirety into your top search bar it will take you to the interview - well - it did for me anyway.

Steve the problem for many AIM companies seems to be getting good news past the nomads. They always seem to find a way to squeeze all the goodness out of an RNS unless it’s a broker/nomad where they seem to be happily overly optimistic before a placing. With that in mind it will be interesting to compare the Proactive video with the update RNS.

I did mention to JP that getting updates out at the time promised is important, and also that much attention is paid to what isn't mentioned in an RNS.

Only three days - ( including today) - for the quarterly update.
It would be great if they could really put some meat on the bones, but, perhaps that is too much to ask for at this stage.
I would have thought that if there was anything major to announce we would have already had an RNS, but, what we should get is a strong sense of direction and work in progress.

We had a couple of sells yesterday at 0.36p on ISDX

28/07/2015 14:08 615,345 @ 0.36
28/07/2015 12:06 58,675 @ 0.36

We also had one for 63,817 at 0.35p on LSE which had been bought 3 hours earlier at 0.38p. Looks like buyers are waiting for some good news and sellers are basically stuffed. They either have to sell low or hold for some buying interest. Normally very little volume at this time of year anyway so definitely a buyer's market atm.

Please forgive me for going off topic, but, as I mentionned before SML and INTQ are my two largest holdings for future growth.
We are awaiting the pending RNS update for SML, and INTQ issued theirs this morning - please see link below which you may find interesting.

GGekkko be nice to think we have bottomed again. Last time we were this low the company was in dire straits with no real future. Now we have Tatu, Wanbao and Vancouver to play with plus $2m in the bank.

D4vis we are probably all wondering that. My guess would be Cornhill for obvious reasons. JP obviously had to put some effort into buying at that price and there can’t be many directors on AIM who would even consider such a thing. Especially since he has 24m options and no real need to buy any. I hope he does very well out of that purchase at 0.6p ;-)

JP also mentioned the potential of SML being a dividend payer in two to three years and you have to wonder if that was what was meant in the AGM statement.

‘with the vision of positioning Strategic Minerals in two to three years as a dividend company’ would have sounded a lot more positive than what we actually got -

‘with the vision of positioning Strategic Minerals in two to three years as a profitable operating mining company.’

First version says a divi within 3 years, but the second one says it might be 3 years before we make a profit. A world of difference between the two versions and you can’t help wonder whether the nomad influenced the wording.

D4vis, someuwin, much obliged to you both for drawing our attention to the Proactive video. A few points stuck out for me.

JP mentioned that they were looking for projects whose production would replace more expensive imports and be less reliant of world commodity prices. Cobre is a good example as the gate sale price is around 40% higher than the world price for magnetite-iron ore and, more importantly, the transporet costs are borne by the customer and not SML.

Another project in the Northern hemisphere doesn’t narrow things down much but I am guessing this refers to the Vancouver potential project.

JP underlined that SL are looking for niche products which fit in with local demand which not only helps protect the selling price, but goes a long way toward raising barriers to importers.

Tatu is ‘In the process of financing the funding package to take it through’ which sounds like we should hear news on that very soon.

I liked his reasoning for buying shares at 0.6p when he could have bought them in the market for around 0.4p. Sadly he did not ask to buy any of mine at the time.

Strategic Minerals MD says smaller scale projects “just right for business”

10:23 27 Jul 2015

The managing director of Strategic Minerals (LON:SML), John Peters, is confident that the firm’s focus on smaller, low cost mining projects will prove profitable in the medium term.

The mining group recently told investors at its annual meeting it wanted to acquire smaller resource projects with near term cash flows.

Strategic Minerals' aim is to become a profitable, dividend paying mining company in two to three years by taking on projects which are reasonably cheap and easy to put into production.

Since the end of 2014, Strategic has bought a New Zealand coal mine (Tatu) while due diligence is underway on a second coal mine in China...
