08/3/2017 19:07 | Certainly a good career history, so he will be commanding a decent salary commensurate with his experience. So much for company costs being reduced then! And it blows Dennis' argument about AERO "training the military" out of the water as well, as clearly he has been doing that in the military! | andy

08/3/2017 14:33 | who is this company shill talking to ? yorgi8 Mar '17 - 13:39 - 2128 of 2131 4 0 I don't imagine for one moment a man with that experience would have joined us if he did not see an interesting and rewarding future looking ahead. Hopefully we won't have too long to wait for further news on that side of the business. yorgi8 Mar '17 - 13:42 - 2129 of 2131 3 0 Buying picked up after that news :-) yorgi8 Mar '17 - 14:15 - 2130 of 2131 2 0 Mark Wharry is a great addition to our company, without any doubt in my opinion and his knowledge, understanding and experience not just with UAV's but also in wider aviation industry and the contacts he will have should undoubtably be to our advantage. Great appointment and as yet I don't consider the market is reflecting it. yorgi8 Mar '17 - 14:27 - 2131 of 2131 1 0 Listed bid not correct, rising, now 0.985p on 5m. | the stigologist

08/3/2017 13:36 | Good appointment :-) Strat Aero plc ("Strat Aero," the "Company" or the "Group") Head of UAV Training Division Appointed Strat Aero plc, an international aerospace company focused on the rapidly emerging Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ("UAV") sector, announces the appointment of Mark Wharry to the Company as Director of Commercial UAS Training & Education. Mr Wharry joins Strat Aero after nearly 15 years in the Royal Air Force, during which time he became the UK Armed Forces' most highly-qualified unmanned aircraft instructor. Mr Wharry is an extremely experienced flying instructor, having originally graduated from the RAF's Central Flying School in 2005 and specialised in instructional roles throughout his career. While in the RAF, he flew Tornado GR4 fast jets in numerous locations around the world, including on combat missions in Afghanistan. For his last tours in the RAF, he volunteered to fly Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, and converted to the MQ-9 Reaper RPAS alongside the USAF in New Mexico, USA. After his time in the US he was posted to the UK as the RAF's Officer Commanding Standards and Evaluation for the UK Reaper Force and latterly as the RAF's Officer commanding UK Reaper Training. Mr Wharry was the Central Flying School's first ever "A" grade Qualified Pilot Instructor on an unmanned aircraft, and designed and managed the training for new RAF pilots converting to RPAS. As the Force's most senior instructor, he had responsibility for checking and assessing all pilot instructors on the Force, as well as standardising each front-line squadron on an annual basis. Mr Wharry 's appointment reflects the Company's commitment to rolling out its commercial UAV pilot training programmes both in the UK and globally in partnership with leading educational establishments such as the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology ('LKW'), a leading international technology university. Ian McLure, CEO of Strat Aero plc, said "Mark's experience and expertise in the field will prove vital to the Company as he heads up our training division, manages the Company's UK National Qualified Entity activities, and delivers Strat Aero's ongoing and expanding training activities in Asia. Mark has extensive experience in training design, syllabus management, instructing and examining in the aviation world. In the UAV sector, his instructional expertise is unparalleled, and he has worked with numerous aviation training companies and governments in syllabus planning, instructor training and course design. In our view being able to attract an individual with the relevant expertise and pedigree of Mark is testament to the strength of our UAV training offering, and we are focused on capitalising on this to establish Strat as the premium provider of commercial UAV pilot education and qualification globally." | yorgi
08/3/2017 09:56 | Yorgi Did Faringdon have a choice? I wonder how long they will keep those shares? If they still have them of course... .. | andy
08/3/2017 08:45 | Volume still low but enough buys to move the share price up......for the moment anyway :-) | yorgi
08/3/2017 08:03 | Well they don't actually do any business I guess a basic random word generator could replace bygdennis | the stigologist
08/3/2017 07:50 | Someone on the LSE site is claiming this morning that SA has only 8 employees. Surely this cannot be true - does anyone have a more accurate number for this multi-national, class-leading enterprise? | pilotov
07/3/2017 23:22 | kemche, I have noticed his involvement in other threads recently, and yes they do seem to be the disappointers in general. Still if you're promoting, you're not on the same side as the shareholders! | andy
07/3/2017 13:33 | Wherever you see the name Yorgi you can immediately assume 99.99% value destruction. | kemche
07/3/2017 13:24 | I have heard of 90% club, but AERO is probably in the 99.99% club in terms of destruction of shareholder value within such as a short space of time. A man running a corner shop can do better; he will probably make a decent living through hard work. It is difficult for young companies with just a concept but without a profitable trading history to be listed on AIM. Most of the time these companies fail. The directors have a duty of care to all stakeholders. They shouldn't paint a rosy picture to tempt existing and new shareholders and then drop a bombshell on the trading and finance front. | kingston78
07/3/2017 12:59 | All the insiders who have escaped subsequently dumping stock as quickly as possible speaks volumes about what the real story is | the stigologist
07/3/2017 12:49 | When it's got some cheap & cheerful Far East Asian resources 'trained' in how to operate Drones and can ship those Resources around to service Contracts in multiple Sectors/Markets/Regi That's clearly the grand Vision for expanding GC's capability beyond the few, long-standing Contracts here in blighty. Treading a survival tightrope though aren't they, quarter to quarter... Will they or won't they thrive or nose-dive ??? | pottermagic2310
07/3/2017 12:47 | kingston - history should be a good guide to the future. Have a look at the accounts - that will bring a tear to the eye. | kemche
07/3/2017 12:31 | When will the company win some meaningful contracts of reasonable size to keep it afloat without resorting to raising money by placing shares and diluting shareholder value? | kingston78
07/3/2017 10:48 | this should trade at 0.08p to reflect last placing | the stigologist |
