The fall yesterday was overdone. At this level your investment is backed by the cash. Its a bit like buying a lottery ticket on oil exploration .If oil is struck you win the jackpot but if its a duster you get your stake back or leave it on for the next drill.

I'm stuck with these, they're as much use as a book of green shield stamps!
Bought into these pre FOG at the equivalent of £4.40 and that was a bargain they went up to an equivalent £13.60.
Then Mauritania stopped flowing, and the price never really recovered, they are jinxed, why am I still in, I'm ever the optimist.😂

The positive thing is that the board were wise enough to manage the risks by farming-down the acreage. Had they not done that, the company would be worthless by now. The risks on this sort of wildcatting are enormous.

Is it a bit overdone? Cash should be at 33 p. right now.

Market probably is now aware that Murphy should drill another well. It is two wells farmout.

someone contact BP and get em to charity donate a few barrels of Oil to Sterling...that's the only way they'll ever see any......or maybe these should go into construction as pilers....

It confirms that one has only so much luck despite knowledge, money, experience. One is not constantly lucky in this business.

By the way, looking at the share price performance over the last month it's clear that this was a 'leaky' well. Those in the know were given the opportunity to exit before the bad news.

But no near term value creation activities in the short term. Ntem was the most convincing prospect so I guess it is likely that SEY will languish for a number of months at least.

Clearly disappointing that the drill has not found oil. The positive is that this was at no cost to Sterling as Murphy paid all the costs.sterling are still sitting on their large cash pile as we await further developments.
