17/7/2013 09:57 | B E. No probs. I think for sure they've got something in mind behind the scenes. | devil20
17/7/2013 09:11 | FWIW I emailed AB last week and here is the reply. I guess it's ok to put it on here as by replying he puts it into the public domain. Dear Mr W, thank you for your email. I am sure you appreciate I cannot make selective disclosures to one shareholder and not to the market in general, and therefore I must restrict my response to you accordingly. I note your comments about 'hard earned money into SEY' and I can advise that I have over the last 3 years invested some £425,000 to acquire >1million Sterling shares (all public information); I believe this shows my commitment to, and belief in, Sterling! I am surprised by your view of Sangaw North "...ended up a waste of time". All exploration carries a significant risk, globally the statistics show there is only 1 commercial discovery for every 6 exploration wells drilled; furthermore, the potential of Sangaw North was greater than 1 billion barrels and Sterling managed to get their share of drilling costs carried by Addax. Overall the opportunity for Sterling was to test, net to Sterling, a potential 0.5 billion barrel prospect for a total exposure of $14m if I was offered a similar project today I would seize it, again and again! The investment by Soyuzneftegas (SNG) to acquire its significant holding is, I believe, an indication of their belief that Sterling is currently priced at little more than cash and that therefore the potential of our existing assets is 'in for nothing'. Sterling has a solid balance sheet and a very sound technical team; we have the financial, and technical, capacity to acquire 1-2 new ventures and this remains our objective. However, opportunities in our core areas of Africa/Middle East are frequently overpriced and do not represent good value for the shareholders. We continue to search for those elusive projects that have a fair entry cost and good chance of delivering a commercial discovery; we have now broadened our search beyond our legacy core areas. I hope this goes some way to answering your questions, thank you for your interest in Sterling. | devil20
17/7/2013 09:04 | Hi SQ. Perhaps Soyuz are having another order filled. If so, an RNS will follow soon. | devil20
17/7/2013 08:55 | Not sure what happened yesterday but some massive trades went through. | septimus quaid
15/7/2013 18:28 | Does anybody remember what the "clawback arrangements" were on the sale of the GOM assets? I only ask, as all this talk of fracking may have enhanced the value. Probably a long shot though, as I think it was related to the price of oil/gas passing a certain threshold. | septimus quaid

21/5/2013 23:57 | lou: the "Russians" are very close to the directors...it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. The relationship goes back well over ten years...check out the detailed histories of First Calgary Petroleum and Emerald Energy. I know the story inside out. They're not some sort of external outfit at all! They are probably able to put oil and gas assets into Sterling, via payment in shares and/or cash...or to facilitate a sale of the company...could be anything planned, no way of knowing. This company really cannot be allowed to drift on forever....although I suppose it can, unless someone *does* something. | bobobob5
18/5/2013 09:16 | Gissa job. I can do that! lol | devil20 |
