15/10/2023 08:00 | I don't know how much it costs to develop a geothermal project but I bet it is not cheap. And STAR are not telling us. It is not very profitable either, the rate of return expected is only in the teens which nobody in the oil industry would even get out of bed for. They may get a decent price from sale of their current oil and gas assets but the money will just be blown away. The company needs new management to stop this nonsense or better still a takeover. | kibes
12/10/2023 10:36 | Thanks SI199, I am of the same view, it is so undervalued - and the reason for that is that o and g investors are not interested, because of their stated plan to be full green geo thermal and green investors aren't going into it, because of the o and g assets. the fact that they state that they are shutting in non economic wells, rehabilitating land, relinquishing land that they were holding and making the o and g portfolio as attractive as possible, means they are getting ready to sell it all. once the o and g is sold, the company will attract the green investors, who will buy up the stock that is being sold by the remaining o and g investors that still hold. the balance sheet tells you, that the o and g assets are worth multiples of the current price - so, those guys are most likely going to be right. | sea7
12/10/2023 09:23 | I overheard a conversation in a restaurant in London - I'd never heard of the company but these two guys seemed to know Ross Glover and were talking about the massive return they were going to make when the oil and gas part gets sold so I've been doing some research. Seems to be so undervalued it barely makes sense haha | stockinvestor199
10/10/2023 15:06 | you have any evidence or is it just hearsay at the moment? | sea7
10/10/2023 11:18 | Apparently there are ongoing talks for a high 8/low 9 figure sale of the O&G business which would be a hefty payday for shareholders at the current valuation. | stockinvestor199

26/9/2023 15:23 | This is going to fly, buys coming in now and hopefully a bid on way for our oil and gas business, big, big rise soon! | bri15
23/9/2023 18:29 | A reasonable presentation IMHO. Good progress on oil and gas side - helping to pay off debt. Geothermal sounds potentially good but in its infancy (lots of use of the words "projects" and "potential") but not generating any cash at the moment, as far as I could tell - happy to be proved wrong. Major shareholder selling explains the current share price. Hope they can find a replacement major investor who likes their plans! Otherwise, I guess it's a case of 'watch this space' to see if they can pull it off..... | philgyuk

21/9/2023 12:35 | At a share price of 9p and GBPUSD 1.23 STAR/IGAS Enterprise Value (Market Cap + Debt - Cash) is USD 17.5 million for a firm that generates USD 15 million of Free Cash Flow... go figure.... | ashkv
21/9/2023 12:32 | From the presentation Q&A: POSITIVES - STAR/IGAS actively paying down debt as RBL refresh will be too interest rate punitive.. The major shareholder supports the Geothermal strategy along with all the other key shareholders management interacted with recently with the exception of the firm selling down... With $90 Brent generate at least $15 million of free cash flow... NEGATIVES - Croatia project is a 3.5-4 year possibly 5 year project.... with 30% IRR supposedly and debt readily available to finance the same post FID which should be late next year. Sandgrove Capital management support the Geothermal strategy but it is not in line with their fund criterion so they will sell down to ZERO holding. Hopefully happens soon as until than share price will be under stress!!! Sandgrove invested in STAR / IGAS based on Shale Gas and it is not happening so selling out.... | ashkv
