06/8/2004 23:10 | Good volume again today. I did notice that the NMS at 4pm was same for bid and offer at 37.5k - suggested (to me) they had stock but were not tempted to drop the price. Personally, I don't expect much volume up to the ex-div date but who can tell...? After that, it seems anybody's guess... Good fun watching on though :o) The joys of a long term hold! | ![]() xdavid
06/8/2004 22:51 | Looks like somebody bought a 50k chunk today, reported late. | ukhawk
06/8/2004 19:11 | Interim and Special Dividends The Board of Stanley Gibbons today announces that it has declared an Interim Dividend for 2004 of 0.5 pence net per Ordinary Share. It has further declared a Special Dividend of 8 pence net per Ordinary Share. Both dividends will be paid on 13 September 2004 to all shareholders on the register at close of business on the record date of 13 August 2004. Ordinary Shares will go ex-dividend on 11 August 2004. | ![]() tom.muir
06/8/2004 14:02 | "...8p special div & 1.5p ord div" Interim dividend is 0.5p. 1.5p estimate for 2004 includes final divi (no date yet for this). | ![]() xdavid

06/8/2004 13:25 | When are these going ex the 8p special div & 1.5p ord div? Is ex-div on the same date? | gregory0106
06/8/2004 12:08 | Someone bought 250 (=£257.5) shares, for which they will get a £21.25 dividend. Isn't that amazing? | ![]() 2magpies
06/8/2004 11:03 | Yes, IC today is very quiet about SGI. Given they have tipped it as a BUY in recent past, now downgrading it to "good value" makes me wonder if they are trying to keep this one a bit quiet for themselves? They make no mention of huge and growing internet business & as said above, the 8p special div is almost glossed over as run of the mill. | gregory0106
06/8/2004 10:50 | Just a further thought: IC merely mentions the 8p special divi in passing, as if this were some minor matter! Do they think investors are doing so well that a guaranteed near 8% windfall doesn't need any emphasis? | ![]() don carter
06/8/2004 10:45 | IC today [Companies results]: "there should be further upside to come". Quotes Seymour Pierce forecast of FY pre-tax 1.86m and eps of 5.3. IC also says: "..clear potential for further growth". I would have thought this comes close to the understatement of the year so far. | ![]() don carter
06/8/2004 10:44 | It could be one of the inside pages mentions, and not on the main tips pages. I'll have a look later. | ![]() 2magpies
06/8/2004 10:20 | In the Citywire press round-up today there's no mention of SGI in the IC. Not sure if that means the commentary is neutral, or there isn't any at all. | ukhawk
06/8/2004 10:15 | No. sorry. I'm strictly a Beano man... (do they still sell The Beano?) | ![]() xdavid
06/8/2004 09:47 | xdavid Have you by any chance seen today's IC? | ![]() 2magpies
06/8/2004 09:32 | Comdirect: 09:30 Offer price: 15k @ 103 Bid price: 37.5k @ 101.5 Mid: 101.5, spread 2.5p | ![]() xdavid
05/8/2004 20:37 | I've been out since this morning. Once again, excellent volume, on not too bad an 'adjustment' down. | ![]() xdavid
05/8/2004 16:30 | Comdirect bid 37.5k @ 101, offer 15k @ 102.63. Looks like they're happy to hold onto stock for tomorrow. | ukhawk
05/8/2004 11:10 | Fairly predictable little shake this morning. Nice bonus for those buying in on the Shares mag tip. MM's probably "expecting" an IC tip tomorrow and will mark it back up. I don't think the tax question is a major issue at this time for most shareholders. | ukhawk
05/8/2004 10:10 | Given the permutations involved, I think I'll follow the strategy which has done me well so far... sit on my hands... :o) | ![]() xdavid
05/8/2004 10:00 | Sorry but disagree...I think a lot of Channel Island holders will sell out just before goes x divi.....wait for the sell off and hope to buy back in. As I said divi`s get taxed, capital growth does not. Just take care that you pocket some profits at least..or if it fits in with your tax arrangements, then fine but expect it. I am not de-ramping this in anyway, just pointing out a fact that many stock holders may not be aware of. | ![]() clocktower
05/8/2004 09:35 | Perhaps MMs just want you to sell out so they get to keep the divi ?? | ![]() 2magpies
05/8/2004 09:04 | There are probably delayed orders xdavid. | ![]() kael
05/8/2004 09:03 | Comdirect: 09:00 Offer price: 15k @ 101.75 Bid price: 20k @ 100.77 Mid: 101, spread 1p Totally expected, on practically no volume... These MMs are such imps... :o) | ![]() xdavid
05/8/2004 08:40 | Thanks, Gengulphus :-) clearly explained as ever! | ![]() xdavid
