07/4/2012 05:09 | hello,new investor here,and first post-interesting article at NEWS-ANTIQUE.COM regarding auction 22nd march-hopefully bodes well for the future. | stodgy88
05/4/2012 18:19 | Jeanesy You are correct it went ex-div today. I wish our investment in AAZ had performed half as well as SGI! | ![]() boros10
05/4/2012 09:02 | I emailed ADVFN a while back to ask why the XD flag had disappeared from the Monitor, and they said it was no longer sent in the feed from the LSE (or something like that). | ![]() dashton42
04/4/2012 20:45 | Some sites say X dividend on the 8th Jeanesy, record on the 10th but i believe with the holidays that maybe different as two trading days before is today so you maybe right and a few will be confused like myself lol. | battlebus2
04/4/2012 19:36 | Even more impressive because i believe the shares may have gone ex-dividend this morning? , 3.5p i believe. Some late reported buys after hours as well. | ![]() jeanesy
04/4/2012 14:38 | I wondered that too; nothing much on the day of the results as I recall, but then some good recent moves. It's impressive that SGI are holding up on an otherwise dismal day. | ![]() dashton42
04/4/2012 14:00 | Lots of small buys have reversed the earlier drop. A pleasant steady move upwards over the last few days , i wonder if these have been tipped somewhere? | ![]() jeanesy
03/4/2012 17:31 | Yep i knew these were getting a higher rating with those trades on Friday. | battlebus2
03/4/2012 16:34 | Another good day here ! | ![]() jeanesy
03/4/2012 14:27 | Yes chart looks set to break through the top of its 2 year trend line. Seen this before..........once it starts to run the share price can cover a lot of ground very quickly and completely against any overall market trend. It could well be establishing a new trading level........after all we did get to 250p 5 years ago and some of us never fully understood why we fell back so sharply! | ![]() ygor705
03/4/2012 10:08 | Another nice tick upwards as I write. Hope that doesn't jinx it. | ![]() dashton42
02/4/2012 14:29 | Who knows - that was a while back wasn't it? Nice looking 5 year chart; as a complete non-chartist, it looks to me like SGI has been in a decent rising channel since 2009. I may be talking complete rubbish though. (It would be good to see NBL play catch-up, seeing as its shares seem to have had quite a close correlation to SGI recently) | ![]() dashton42
02/4/2012 13:42 | Nice movement upwards today. Good write up in IC may be the reason? | ![]() jeanesy
30/3/2012 15:18 | A flurry of good trades going through ;)) | battlebus2
26/3/2012 08:35 | I agree Battlebus2; Stanley Gibbons are THE company, in the UK at least, for investment-grade stamps, and I can't see the demand for these faltering. That's without the other collectables like autographs, medals etc. I like what SGI are doing in Hong Kong - catering to the Chinese demand for rare stamps, and I think the online part of the business and the auctions have huge potential. As long as they keep on doing what they do well, I can't see any reason why the share price cannot continue to perform over time. DYOR. | ![]() dashton42
25/3/2012 11:01 | Bought SGI a few years back at 80p and thought that we had reached their high several times and sold only to find they paused for a while with a maybe 10/15% fall back never a large fall as you put it. I believe stamps, collectibles are more sought after now and IMV this will continue. I do have several valuable stamps which over a 25 year period have virtually only ever increased in value. The shareprice here will continue to £3 but it may take it's time. Solid shares don't fall of cliffs. | battlebus2
25/3/2012 10:08 | Maybe, but I wish I'd bought SGI shares 10 years ago, let alone back in the '70's... Stamps I more or less understand, but whisky malts - out of my league. Is there an ETF?! | ![]() dashton42
25/3/2012 09:14 | Dashton been a stamp collector since the 70's seen it before. Other craze, time will tell. If I were investing in anywhere it would be whisky malts from the close still era DYOR | ![]() bargainbob
25/3/2012 09:10 | bargainbob - imho, you are speaking out of your nether regions. No offence. | ![]() dashton42
24/3/2012 21:57 | Watching for the large fall here, stamps are never a solid assett. | ![]() bargainbob
24/3/2012 19:53 | I would like to see more progress made about the USA. We keep getting news about possible expansion in the USA but nothing concrete yet. Hopefully there will be news in the near future on this. Price was steady, not un-expected due to run up to results. Hopefully we can rise steadily from here in the long term. A solid investment imo. | ![]() jeanesy
24/3/2012 08:43 | Nice telegraph tip robin. SP Bit slow moving but it will come for sure over the next few weeks. The only thing i feel they should have done more with is the dividend, it should have kept pace with the earnings. The yield is now looking a little short at under 3% but as long as the profits are spent wisely then the appreciation in share price will make up for that. Woody | ![]() woodcutter

23/3/2012 17:12 | Peel Hunt raised their price target from 215p to 230p. They estimate the asset value to be £49.6m (197p per share). | ![]() robinnicolson |
