That is what im afraid of.We have dropped nearly 20% on no news after a very good update. I am very nervous ahead of the results now

Can't see it going as low as 1.40 unless there is bad news in the back of the cupboard.

This is becoming worrying imo.

Safest shares at the moment will be those underpinned by the dividend and prospects of growth of Dividend and Stanley Gibbons falls into that category so shouldn't fall too much lower imv.

The downtrend continues with a market sell off. Time for the brave to buy?

Exactly.

And with the Royal Wedding, then Queen's Diamond Jubilee and Olympic
Games all set to provide considerable added impetus for SGI earnings
this year and next, now is certainly not the time to sell IMHO !

As Peter Lynch put it:

"Just because the price goes up doesn't mean you're right. Just
because it goes down doesn't mean you're wrong. Stock prices
often move in opposite directions from the fundamentals, but long term
the direction and sustainability of profits will prevail."

I'd say it's just general market drift on no news. Final results should be out later this month. I'm looking to add on any significant weakness.

That's me in at 168.3 for a little extra punt on a run up to and after results, with a divi included - would be wrong not to really.....

Chairman2,

No specific price targets in mind ...but obviously as
they open up markets in China, Russia, India, Brazil,
the potential here is immense.

And even if they simply continue as they are - growing EPS
by 11%, on an operating margin of 17.6% and a stellar ROE
of 20.38% (figures from ADVFN financials)I intend to hang on
to these like a limpet.

And continue to add - till our p/e gets silly - when funds permit.

Regards

EDIT: Dividend growth isn't too shabby either !

Garbil

what are your long term objectives for this share?

if I may ask?

jeanesy,

Simply profit-taking in a generally very skittish market,
IMHO.

Which provides the long-term investor with an excellent buying
opportunity...

As there are surely very few dividend-paying growth companies
this well run, trading on a historic p/e of under 12 - that are
also in a position to release updates as positive as this:

"Overall, the Group's businesses are developing in line with strategy
and are in a stronger position to deliver continued growth to Shareholders in the future than at any time in recent years."

If you are interested in quizzing management, the company is exhibiting at this show in April: www.masterinvestor.co.uk. They have a few free tickets available for shareholders and other interested parties if you email the organisers at mi2011tickets@t1ps.com quoting 'Stanley Gibbons shareholder'.

battlebus......I am getting dizzy from counting all those perfs.

The delayed trade at 11.36am for 10,000 shares is a buy, not a sell, as listed.

You will see that they are still 'buying in' Stanley Gibbons shares at 2p above the live selling price of £1.87 this afternoon.
They ain't doing this, just to sell them at a lower price next week...!
We shall see.......
And that's on a day when there are 2 shares sold to every one bought.

This share 'wants' to be at the £2.00 level,We can see that, they just can't do it in one day.
I would rather this than 15p to 20p jumps which just encourages profit taking.
They are raising the price by the right method.
