I'm ragged lol 😆

Thats the issue with bid teams...they don't have to make it work...theres no accouability.

Yes its always possible to re enter market.

QsmeIly456 - Ha - most work bidding for contracts is wasted - as long as you win enough to keep going. It'll be a single team responsible for both so no heads need roll. Obviously I've no idea on the margins or how long it takes to draw down the funding - it could be that the margins are actually better on the apprenticeships but take longer to draw down - maybe Staffline want a quick turnaround on a lower margin to service the debt. Hard to see it as bad news or pivoting to pursue a better option as bad business. And presumably you can create another legal entity to bid for more apprenticeship down the line or acquire another business to plug that gap if you really want to be in that market. Hope you're strapped in with an oxygen mask and a magazine to read :-)

Worth following Staffline on LinkedIn if you aren't already. They just posted the following:
"In the Comprehensive Spending Review today, the investment in employability and skills that was originally outlined in the “Plan for Jobs”, has been further strengthened.

As we set out at the Capital Markets Day, PeoplePlus is very well positioned to support the government’s objective in getting people back into employment.

PeoplePlus has unique access to the Group’s recruitment networks, one of the largest recruiters in the UK & Ireland.

The “Restart”; programme is the Long Term Unemployment programme, and will be procured through the DWP framework on which PeoplePlus was the most successful provider.

PeoplePlus will look at all these strategic opportunities in line with its strong bid disciplines."

Ragged....thanks for the detail, why not just say the responsibility and any benefit or liability is now not staf's.

So all that hard work and cost to win that contract is written off. Who was accountable for bidding for poor margin work.....no doubt the new CEO will rightly blame the previous shambles many of who are still in post 🐵
