Be good in some ways, if these contracts were spread out over quite a few years, as this one is, then wouldn't get sudden variations in revenue/profit. Nicer for the in and out brigade if results are very lumpy, but better for a stable rating if they're reliably growing.

I’ve been out and about today so not much opportunity to think let alone post. Like others here I agree the muted price reaction is largely down to not really understanding what SRT are about. I suspect the average PI will look at this and think it’s just a one off contract win. They will have little idea that SRT have been busily constructing a conveyor belt of similar opportunities. Once the general perception moves to recognising that this is a business with multiple repeat opportunities each of which has an element of recurring revenue then I expect the share price to shift a gear or two. Meanwhile the patient long suffering jam tomorrow brigade who frequent this board and turn up for AGMs have a distinct edge. I for one hope there is some drift in the share price to enable a little more topping up.

I see that exactEarth has popped up and thought it might be some sort of read across. It isn't. They have issued convertible debentures, mainly to existing shareholders.

The review didn't conclude that anything was possible. Massive dilution, 120% more new shares if the debentures convert (at 50 cents), bust if they don't. I much prefer SRT's lean financing methods.

I'm fairly sure that a lot of the revenue from this project is due in the early stages - so to be conservative let's say £10 million this coming year - and add in £5 million from the general worldwide hardware sales. Current market cap is around £40 million. I suspect the market reaction is muted because we have a history of not actually receiving the money from announced contracts and it's just PI's buying today. Once we actually have the money in the bank from this and any other projects (and remember, Simon's guess was 2-3 contracts signed by Xmas) then I'm expecting this to fly. Til the cash is proven to be real I suspect we're in the lap of the gods - but shouldn't be long to wait!

Probably take the next contract to catapult the share price.

If you divide £31mln by four (although it won't necessarily go like that) its £7mln+ a year, which isn't enough to jump the total revenue to anything startling, because of the lack of other projects. Its a very nice backbone though.

One more would do it imo.

goodapple - I agree. I think the potential of SRT, and the growth it could achieve, are largely underestimated in the market. It may take some time and the attention additional 'wins' will bring, to encourage a bit more research and subsequent appreciation.

I think two thing hold back the share price: the "jam tomorrow" / missed targets legacy, and the lack of understanding what SRT and its markets are all about.
I hope with the confirmation of this contract win that a couple of decent scribblers can work out what potential begins to open up in terms of add-ons for this customer and impact on other countries with similar maritime requirements.
Some well written press articles about this dedicated little company from MSN are required.

Like owenski I would expect to see some more share price improvement in the weeks ahead.

buck - I think, after a few perceived 'false starts' it might take the arrival of contracts 2 and 3 in the next few months to really swing opinion....

I thought Sir Humphrey might have had a hand in it:

Congratulations to Simon Tucker and all the hard working team at SRT.
This is a huge validation of SRT's standing in the MDM space, landing a complex project in possibly the largest boat park in the world.
Now comes the issue of recruiting the right people and delivering the system.
No small issue, SRT can't take anything for granted.
Looks like the £20m revenue forecast for this year is now more of a reality.
Onwards and upwards for SRT :-))

Very welcome even if expected, and a good level of disclosure allowed by the BFAR. It certainly is a long way from being something that can be knocked up in a garden shed, as a critic used to suggest.

The broker hasn't got over-excited, probably as relieved as everyone else. I suspect that they are still waiting on a couple of other shoes to drop before upgrading.

No-one seems to have noticed that the old contract was for €28.5 million and this renewed version is for £31 million, or some £6 million more. I know that some of the uplift is because of the financing change - presumably SRT will hedge the forex risk if they see fit. There is no mention of whether they will use financing or not - I expect that the hub will be installed and invoiced shortly. Payment should be within sixty days of that, so it really depends on whether they need the cash or not. That in itself would depend on whether they need to prepare for other orders. In any case, funding is not a concern.

As Owenski's extract makes clear, this is only a beginning for the Philippines and marks the end of the beginning for us shareholders.

... and this is without any of the other 'new' contracts that we're expecting - here's hoping... I'm sure a few on here had written off this one.

Based on previous unfortunate shamble with contract win announced, investors will be more cautious until the money is 'in the bag'. Fingers crossed.

Forward view on SRT as a business operating in the MDM sector is becoming derisked with this announcement. From an investors viewpoint the VPL gains credibility. share price is moving in the right direction but has only effectively recovered lost ground, more to come in future weeks imo.

I seem to remember it was back-loaded.

A cue for DJT to remind us. That is one fact that an accountant should remember.
Or not.

Re: cash flow...

Where is an accountant when you need them - DJTrading - time for your insight on cash flow. Time to post a warning when the price is up - gain some real credibility !

Or not.

I have just got online after my wifi crashed this morning - perhaps it got overexcited on the news it was carrying! Joking apart, it's a well deserved and overdue reward to ST and the team for their herculean efforts aver a long time - and for those here for sticking with SRT.

Of course it may present me with a problem. Do I ignore a self-imposed limit on how much to invest in any one AIM stock? Following it so far and selling at peaks (e.g. 40 - 50p) and restoring at ~25p has lowered my net cost to 14p. For the moment I think it will be 'let profits run'.

The other problem is when to search for and open the jam. I think I will wait for cash flow figures before that. Incidentally, didn't LaValmy or C5 or someone make a comment on that prospect a while back? - a reminder would be useful.

Well done SRT and ST, and best wishes to all the patient, long term holders of shares. A very nice base on which to build for 2019 and beyond. Keep turning the handle on that sausage machine.... :)

That photo was indeed a nice hint. I believe ST said that a lot of this contract was front loaded, so we should actually be seeing the cash into the company in the forseeable future. At that point I'd assume an RNS would be in order that we're doing better than market expectations.
Congrats to the team, good to see all your hard work paying off. From a personal standpoint, I'm almost at breakeven!

Hope this contract award gets some good press coverage for SRT, and starts to remove the "jam tomorrow" label which has been attached to the company these past few years.
Delighted by the news, and congrats to ST and his team.
Now where did I put that jar?

Well done ST and team!

Pugugly - hope that answers your question?

fft - I don't think there was a leak - I was among the buyers Thu/Fri and it just seemed like the right time and price. The award has been mooted here with some confidence for a long time - there would have been more surprise at the absence of an award than the presence.
