25/6/2019 12:58 | Taking into account JD sports good result earlier in the year it looks like all the negativity is based on the HoF purchase and of course the write down of the Debenhams holding. Does anyone know how many share have been bought since resuming the share buy back scheme? Everytime he has donebthisbthe sga res have always risen significantly post results. | ![]() terminated

11/4/2019 16:14 | Well said Robot. Sports Direct using a share buyback announcement to have another dig at Debenhams "complete contrast to Debs..who ignored the wishes of shareholders". Of course SD buybacks also boost Ashley's stake in the biz. Please do your own research as always. | qantas

11/4/2019 10:33 | Sports Direct International Plc Media Statement 11/04/2019 10:30am RNS Non-Regulatory TIDMSPD Sports Direct International Plc 11 April 2019 Date: 11 April 2019 SPORTS DIRECT INTERNATIONAL PLC ("Sports Direct" or the "Company") Media Statement Further to this morning's announcement of a new share buyback programme, the board of Sports Direct believes our share buybacks are an important mechanism for maintaining an efficient but robust balance sheet for the benefit of our shareholders, whose support, including during the Debenhams refinancing process, we continue to appreciate. Our understanding of the importance of our shareholders and our actions towards them are in complete contrast to the actions of the board of Debenhams, past and present, whereby they ignored the wishes of shareholders, both major and minor, and offers of support, and completely destroyed shareholder value. 09/4/2019 22:09 | No - it was to close out his short. He was short from 50p, then closed. I think this loss will blow Ashley's brains and SPD will be bust within five years. The facts are SPD have hundreds of small shops and the two hundred smallest ones are becoming a real drag on the business. Also how is he going to get premium gear when he has few outlets to do the upmarket stuff justice. Ashley is stuck between a rock and a hard place, SPD is a failing business and the profits will evaporate just like his bid for Debenhams did. SELL and sell fast. SPD is a sinking ship it's time to man the lifeboats. | ![]() ltcm1
