"I'm a shareholder so no one can forcibly buy my shares if I am not willing to sell."

Are you kidding me? If the majority vote you have to sell whether you like it or not. Cash or check will be sent out by the elected stockbroker. Imagine if you could hang onto your shares after the company was taken private, who would you sell them to as there would be no market.

This company is a massive cash cow with property assets on its books. I want to be part of it. MA is a smart man. Sentiment will return and when it does.... Boom

I'm a shareholder so no one can forcibly buy my shares if I am not willing to sell. I have a profit target to sell at and if that is not reached I will retain the shares, private or not.

Well his vote managed to secure Hellawell's re-election against independent shareholder's desires.

80.9% of the votes were cast in favour of Hellawell's re-election, 19.08% against.

The recent shareholding purchases have not yet been cancelled leaving them effectively under the control of the board eg. MA, who will undoubtedly act in shareholders interests *cough cough* and not his own.

One thing I have noticed is come the open of the DOW there always seems to be a seller, possibly Stateside . Just an observation .

Well I bought another 10k bringing my holding up to a decent sum spread over two accounts. This is the only holding showing red for me but I always buy shares out of favour so I'm used to seeing red, but I always see blue longer term. I'm a patient man ;-)

Yea but he already owns over 50% of SPD so effectively as CEO he can use the company's share holding to control any vote bringing approval over 60%, including a recommendation to accept an offer.

Thanks nortic, so that's just over half so a long way to go. That should steady the ship. With the buyback accumulation and his own holding he could effectively set the buyout price should he choose to take it private as he will control over 60% of the vote.

Interesting trade in Debenhams yesterday . I was told a trade of 8.1m went through. Could be linked to MA but only a hunch. Will be fascinating to see if there are any big trades in SPD today?

Salpara111I agree with you on some points, especially as regards to "outside shareholders" .

As long as Ashley continues to ignore the city the share price is going nowhere.
Ashley really should take the business private as he clearly has no interest in paying any attention to outside shareholders.
