Can you two please stop the ranting and get this board back to matters on SPD? Nobody is remotely interested in who you really are, where you live, how much money you have, just your views on SPD. Don't wish to offend in any way but it has got rather boring now.

TerminatedRead back my postings, they have not been posted to "wind" people up. Most on here are invested so I expect my views (negative/contrarian) to be attacked, but I also hope to be proven wrong, debate the pro's and cons, isn't that what these boards are for - sensible debate between adults.Perhaps I missed your justification for falling profits for last FY, my point was sterling did not effect their yearly results to April 2016, it had not declined during that period.As for JD, again all I have ever posted is that the PE for JD cannot be used for SPD as their fundamentals are completely different as is their customer base, of cause they are in the same sector but that's like comparing Boohoo with Koovs - only one is profitable at the moment and growing earnings (bottom line). Again all I have posted are my opinions, yes I may be completely wrong (have been before!), but if I cannot convince myself based on positive debate then I'm not going to throw my hard earned at it, despite what complete strangers may say.Again, for the record I have not said people with money should not use free BB. Just was questioning the postings/bragging of a particular poster on here.Same to yourself, good investing.DD

Disco Dave you accuse nortic of being one of those fantasy rampers we all hear on BB's but aren't you just one if those wined up merchants we all keep seeing on BB'S? Rhetorical question of course. You clearly get off on winding people up. Personally I just can't be bothered in getting caught up in slagging matches with people on these site, the whole thing is beneath me.Regarding your comment about why revenue has increased but underlying profits dropped 8% I already have given my point of view many times. I told you over three times I believe it shows that the low pound hit margins. When you buy stuff at a higher cost but then sell it at the same price you make less profit, even when you increase the amount you sell. They have not been involved in heavy discounting and we already know JD sports made good profits so the sector is not in a slump. Despite your ludicrous statement that JD sports cannot be compared to SPD because they have different business models, they are direct competitors but maybe with slightly different demographics in mind. JD however, is SPD'S only real competitor it's plain ridiculous to deny it. Anyway that's my opinion and I've given a justification but no one but MA can give a definitive answer and he never seemed to fully address it at the last meeting so it's down to interpretation. I can't however, remembering you justifying logically an alternative opinion. but then you said you did so that it I suppose.As for suggesting people with money wouldn't use a free bulletin board it is also narrow minded. I know many with hundreds of 1000's under private management and they used the free BB's because you get a varied opinion. A paid bb has far less. I wouldn't pay for ADVFN because I already have analysis tools available through my online brokers, I only come on to scan opinions and the occasional gem makes it worthwhile.
