25/4/2006 21:50 | 25.04.06 :-2.25, (42.5) downgraded to 'in-line' from 'outperform' at Cazenove. Cazenove said US peer Ixia's disappointing guidance on second-quarter earnings issued last week is incrementally negative for Spirent, suggesting that weak trading in the test equipment sector is persisting beyond Q1 and highlighting increased competitive pressures. The broker noted that Spirent had already indicated a slower-than-expected start to the year. However, the company also expected a recovery into the year, due to its assessment of vendor and carrier capex plans coupled with normal seasonal patterns. | desperate dan | |
