My understanding is the shares will be cancelled and thus have no value....by mid September...
I expect the price to be crashed tomorrow......least that is how I see it....
I stand to be corrected....

So is it a case of get out at any price come the morning or is there a glimmer of hope on the horizon +2 years or so?

Effectively yes. Way for Woodford to delay having to admit it. I took a small loss and moved on last year.

As Per Del44 comments:
I almost dumped all my Sphere yesterday but I have decided to stick it out to the end.
Maybe help is just around the corner.
The product is good. Just needs a buyer or buyers.

I will certainly think long and hard before buying anymore at this stage....I need to see some evidence that the product is actually selling and not just still been trialed by hospitals...like repeat business....that sort of thing.....
So if it is a placement to some institutions then fair enough....I wont be too bothered not participating...:-)

No.
We are in transition here....both as a company and in terms of finance....
A new investor may already be a player in the sector we are in. The SVB people may have contacts in the industry...no, I am still in here.....
I have come this far...

longshanks:
I calculate they have enough cash until the end of the year, assuming they draw down on the other part of the loan in place from SVB. This also includes a tax credit of £500,000 received in July. And using a figure of just under £500,000 per month based on full year cash at hand at the end of 2016......
A doubling of issued shares now looks on the cards.....sadly.....

Don't forget the biggest competitor: inertia.Getting hospitals to use new labour-saving technology is not always that straightforward.

The main competitors are the benchtops...across Europe not just the UK...It has been standard practice for years now....hard to change the system with new technology....but not impossible. Just need money to advertise it or a good distributor deal...the guys who already have their foot in the doors of most hospitals.....

Who do you guys see as the UK competition for SPHR ?

Woodford does not get it right all the time in Pharma Biotechs as Vernalis shareholders will know (VER)

Though I will concede it must give some a warm fuzzy feeling when he buys in

SPHR BOD had better get the hat passed round quick before the chart lows get re-visited.

I don't know how they are paying their bills: they must be scrabbling to find all the coins at the back of the sofa each month. The update does inspire some continuing confidence that they are still well supported by SVB and Neil Woodford: both heavyweight backers for aspiring tech firms.

Amazing what folks will do for freebies these days

I am impressed with your honesty re chart comment about lower top in
Plus a logical reason as to why = more dilution imminent

It's actually a pity that Wolfgang could not make it to this one Del, it was a sell out and packed to the rafters, so Sphere might have gained a few new followers.

Unfortunately I suspect it had little to do with the line up of speakers (with or without Wolfgang) but more to do with the goodies bag they were giving away to celebrate the 6th anniversary of these meetings:

The freebies included a bottle of bubbly and a years subscription to online Shares Mag.

History would tend to agree with you buywell3.....the last 5 years make grim reading.....It is very possible that the catalyst for the next leg down could very well be the announcement of the next funding...which cant be too far away now.
At least £8 million needs to be raised from some where.....and the issuing of more shares can only really depress the share price ....unless they have some unexpected good news to announce with the funding..may be a major customer(s) on the sales front or a major distributor agreement on the back of seeing potential in the technology at last....
Or perhaps even a convertable loan issue.
But we will need funding soon...and the sooner the better....The SVB loan has filled a gap for a while and has given sales a small chance of gaining some traction. But even that will have to be paid back in a few years time......

At this point I am betting on past performance not been an indicator of future performance....I can but hope at this stage...:-)
Good luck....

Think it unlikely to be personal or compassionate as Wolgang and Richard have both presented in the past.

So, it would seem that the first seems more likely. Interesting that we have two decent sized buy trades today for the first time in days on a horrible day on FTSE. Maybe some positive news about to hit.

...or maybe they have finalised their placing/finance options and don't need/want to promote the business further. It could also be illness or personal/compassionate leave reasons.
