09/9/2013 16:17 | The recent performance of Lavendon has been heavily dependent on the region that he's been responsible for. Lavendon and Speedy are very similar size companies (in capitalisation). Wright could bring a lot of customers with him - if his rumoured appointment is confirmed. | m.t.glass
09/9/2013 15:44 | Speaks well of the boards intentions for international expansion. A very good appointment, | llwyd
09/9/2013 15:40 | Another plus for the company and the news has been well received by the market at the end of the day's trading. | tymedici
09/9/2013 15:31 | interesting rumour: Can we expect an announcement from Speedy Hire very soon? We have now confirmed that Andy Wright who heads Lavendon's highly successful operations in the Middle East, is leaving the company. Appointed to the role in 2010, his official title was chief executive, international operations, and he has been based in Dubai since. We also understand that he will join the Middle East operations of Speedy Hire and remain in the region. Wright joined Lavendon from Aggreko in late 2006 as group development director and was appointed head of UK operations in mid 2007. Vertikal Comment We first heard of Wrights impending departure early last week, but have been unable to confirm it beyond reasonable doubt Until now. The Middle East operations of Lavendon, which trade under the Rapid Access banner, have boomed during Wright's tenure and in the first six months of this year generated revenues of £22.1 million, second only to the UK, while being the most profitable part of the group, generating an operating income of £6.5 million, or 44 percent of the group total. His departure, which has not yet been officially announced by the company, will be a serious loss, and if as we believe he does join Speedy, a substantial gain for its fledgling international operations. | m.t.glass
05/9/2013 15:44 | Not budging this one. Gonna need some news or something to get it going. Lots of project wins announced over on Twitter - but zilch over here. | priteshpatel9
04/9/2013 06:46 | OECD report from yesterday pointing to stonking GDP growth in the last 2 Q's of 2013 relative to the rest of the OECD. SDY should benefit easily from such domestic expansion. Take a look at AHT to see the effects | mirabeau
04/9/2013 06:43 | AHT smashed it. Good sign also for Speedy? | priteshpatel9
03/9/2013 19:15 | Speedy to profit as construction output booms | boonboon
28/8/2013 07:58 | Quite right Ty! Technically though we recently broke down through the MA50 (currently 59.44p) which has provided firm support for a year. Will it continue to be support or become the new resistance? | rumbers2
28/8/2013 07:46 | why not ...it's a quality stock. | tymedici

09/8/2013 08:39 | Well done on your TW investment Innto. You hit the nail on the head questioning whether Speedy's contracts are converting into decent bottom line profits. I dont know the answer to that, but surely improving those margins must be Corcoran's number one focus right now. | rumbers2
09/8/2013 08:02 | Interesting that there is very little movement in the price here, and with to contract wins in the bag. Makes me wonder where the price would be without the contracts. I suppose it is now down to the board to show that these are being converted into the bottom line profits. Next results are out around the 17th October I think, need to look at those really closely. IMHO DYOR etc etc GLA | inntolife
08/8/2013 21:13 | Just found this too, published today on their website: Speedy Airport Services has well and truly taken flight, after the leading integrated asset services provider secured a two year partnership contract with Gatwick Airport Limited to supply a range of services from Tools & Powered Access to TRIM services (Test Repair Inspection Maintenance). hxxp://www.speedyser Gatwick and Taylor Wimpey news on the same day. | priteshpatel9
08/8/2013 18:15 | Oh happy days Rumbers2 got into TW. 26th March to use the ISA allowance so win win for me :-) Thought I'd missed the best but I feel that is still to come. | inntolife |
