Crikey, so the profits are going to be below 3.72p eps, comparing to last year.

I would guess they will be 3p eps +

On a 36p share price that would still mean a target of 6p eps.

It's obvious they were going to b e less than 3.72p if you check the Seym. P forecast. I'll watch the price closely today, could be a good buy at this level.

Don't assume that chargeable Wi-fi doesn't have legs. The Girlfriend and I had a weekend in Cardiff recently and stayed at the St Davids. Wifi charge was £15 per night. We paid it.

I do agree with you that the market is highly competitive, but Spectrum seem to be in a strong position. Time will tell if they can use that position well.

In case this comes across as a ramp I no longer hold.

I've just dumped my holding of 5,000.
Although at a profit of +76% I can't complain too much!
Although a cash generative business, looking to the future when WiFi access will be free and whole cities will offer Internet access I can't see how this company can grow much further. Its business is being deminished by technology in a mega-competitive market place. When all mobile phones will be able to surf the net and check email for virtually free the interactive terminals will become redundant, rather like the payphone is today. This is just unfortunately one of those businesses that has no long term future in todays highly competitive mobile technology market place - IMHO.

This is clearly a profit warning. share price has just hit 35p on a paltry 25K volume of shares traded. Bit of a bummer for Lord Young then !

Comment on Germany seems to be a bit of a red herring since it is only 15% of the business. Still on my WL and still on the sidelines - need to see some more positive developments, than just insider buying, to establish real credibility.

Spectrum Interactive sees overall H1 profit lower vs last year

LONDON (AFX) - Payphone and public internet terminal provider Spectrum Interactive PLC said it expects first-half revenues to be higher than the previous year, but profits to be lower due to some high-margin business not being repeated this year. It added it expects 'reasonable growth' for the full year, due to development of its interactive business.

It said, however, that its German business, which accounts for about 15 pct of turnover, has experienced difficult trading conditions, with payphone revenues falling faster than expected and problems obtaining growth in the internet business. But, it said, it is 'confident' of improved results in Germany in the second half of the year, due to a recent change in management. It added that UK business, by contrast, has been satisfactory during the first quarter with good growth of its internet business, in line with market forecasts.

August's airport security alerts which caused long delays boosted demand for its airport payphones and internet services, Spectrum said. During the first quarter, however, it said underlying payphone revenues were below forecast

Its a profit warning no matter how you look at it.

No good trying to cover over the cracks, just take it on the chin.

Just when I thought I hadnt had one this year, drattttttttttttttttttt.

Anyone remember SIN telling us that last year's interims were inflated by some "some high-margin, one-off business" prior to today's statement, as I certainly don't?

Perhaps, those Seymour forecasts aren't so hot, after all.....

All IMHO, DYOR etc.

Sold my last few recently- more luck than judgment.

Commiserations to holders; might get back in once dust settles- if it hit 35p to buy I probably wouldnt be able to resist.
