06/11/2006 15:26 | I think the director buys should underpin it guys at 39p & 44p. | outsider
06/11/2006 15:25 | Hedge, It's doing pretty well to retain so much of the gain since last results. So many shares suffer retracement. | spaceparallax
06/11/2006 14:00 | Taking some moving this one up today. Buyers have it so far. | hedgehunter
06/11/2006 09:47 | Topped up here this morning, not a lot. Still way too cheap. | hedgehunter
06/11/2006 09:41 | Battle, Have watched this one down from over a 100p, eventually buying in at mid 60s. It's been a frustrating share to hold, especially when dipping down below 20p - nevertheless, I kept faith and we do seem to be heading the right way. For those reasons I've tended to hold and monitor, rather than add (although with hindsight, I should have been braver). I eagerly await the next results because I feel that they will be crucial in indicating whether SIN have cracked the Internet growth vs Telephone decline balance. That said, if nothing else, the phone booths do make very attractive multi-sided advertising boards. Agree with your feelings re greater short-term potential here, but for me AVG contributes a different aspect to my portfolio. If you're looking for good risk/return options, I'd suggest that you look at two European property investors that promise good growth : SYG (mainly Germany) and EEE (East Europe). Regards | spaceparallax
03/11/2006 19:03 | Spaceparallax have you invested in SIN,some of my profits from AVG have gone to this as returns here are likely to be better and sooner. | battlebus
03/11/2006 15:25 | Hedge, Please excuse my ignorance - thanks for that! | spaceparallax

03/11/2006 07:14 | PRESS RELEASE Spectrum's new banking agreement enables further investment in company's Internet Business Spectrum Interactive plc (AIM:SIN), the public internet and payphone operator, is pleased to announce that it has agreed a new five-year banking agreement with Bank of Scotland Corporate which extends Spectrum"s existing £5.4m of senior loans to 2011. Bank of Scotland has been the company's senior debt provider since 2002. Mark Lewarne, Spectrum's CEO said today, "This is an excellent development for the company. It strengthens our long-term relationship with the Bank of Scotland and enables us to invest more in our growing interactive business and target additional acquisitions. It is also a significant vote of confidence by the Bank in our long-term strategy." Daryll Windsor, Director of Relationship Banking at Bank of Scotland also commented, "We are very pleased to be extending our agreement with Spectrum. We have a successful, long-standing relationship with the Company, and we are confident this new deal will assist the company in continuing to develop its growing interactive business." | outsider
02/11/2006 04:59 | The airport market is the largest market sector for Spectrum, after it's street phone base. Total revenues generated in this sector in the last financial year were over £3m, of which roughly half came from the interactive side of the business. The Company is the clear market leader in the UK in the provision of public Internet access within airports with contracts with 21 top airports. 90% of passengers travelling by air to or from the UK have access to Spectrum's services. The Company also provides services in several medium-sized German airports. Within the year, the number of interactive desks installed in UK airports rose from 388 to 461 whilst the average revenue per unit continued to grow. Further airports have been added since the year end and additional units have also been installed into existing airports. Spectrum has benefited from the growth in worldwide Internet usage which has coincided with an explosion of low cost air travel. Many airport users wish to access email and Internet whilst on the move and this, together with the increasing dwell time caused by heightened security requirements, has meant that Spectrum services have been in high demand. A major new development this year has been the installation of retail units at airports, complementing the freestanding desks already deployed. These retail sites are in prominent locations, are eye-catching and offer the user a choice of three payment methods. So far the results from these units has been very encouraging. Further growth is expected in this sector, as there is scope to add still more units in existing airports without diluting the average revenues. There is also the potential to increase revenues through new services. Going forward, Spectrum's strategy is to maintain its excellent relationships with its existing airport partners, while constantly seeking to grow business in this sector by winning new partners in the UK and across Europe. CASE STUDY/ BAA INTERNET RETAIL UNITS Internet access demand has grown across all airports, and to such an extent that during 2006 BAA awarded substantial prime retail spaces to Spectrum as unmanned Internet Shops, in addition to Spectrum's existing onsite Internet Desks. Spectrum has invested significantly in developing its close working relationship with BAA over the past 15 years, and this year developed the new Internet Shops venture at five brand new retail units at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted London Airports. This new initiative, in co-ordination with BAA, provides passengers with distinctively branded Internet Shops for easy to use, high quality services. As part of this initiative, Spectrum is developing the functionality on selected Internet desks to provide USB connectivity, Microsoft Office functions and printing. The retail sites offer a number of payment options for passengers including on-screen credit cards, coins (both GBP and Euros), and vouchers which are available from vending machines. Each retail unit has its own unique style with customised graphics and modern seating, whilst the high impact branding is instantly recognisable as that of Spectrum. Spectrum however is already looking to the future and currently developing further technological additions to its site services including MP3 downloads, laser keyboard projection, Bluetooth connectivity and much, much more... 01/11/2006 12:39 | Good news Peter. | hedgehunter
31/10/2006 07:03 | No expert in graphs & not really a fan of them as a one stop investment tool, but just have a feeling that these may go to about 55p before they settle soon. | outsider
30/10/2006 17:29 | Exactly outsider, no one even a lord invests £500000 in a company that he has all the insider info on to lose money on. Anyway if the co is going badly the market will mark it down LORDY OR NOT. | battlebus
30/10/2006 10:33 | "and did Lord Young buy the shares to stop the share price falling further ?" I'll answer that question Kenny. The share price was rising when he bought, the CEO paid 24p in June for 100,000 (cost £24,000) & Lord Young paid £500,000 for his 1.1 million shares. I can't imagine he'd pay £500,000 to stop the price from falling. I think rather he hopes to tuen his £500,000 into two or three million pounds with a few years. | outsider
30/10/2006 08:35 | I agree 76ton, that in the long term 46p may prove to be a very good price to have paid But i do think (as with all shares) there will be a pull back in the share price after such a strong rise. Nothing wrong with that as people take the profit and move to the next one. A lot as been made of the Director buys But i would wonder why the investor Sold his large %holding ! and did Lord Young buy the shares to stop the share price falling further ?. I do not know either way but i am happy to sit and wait to find out and if i miss any further share price rise so be it. 'ho hum' is like saying 'or well never mind'. guys, please do not come back saying i am trying to de-ramp SIN. kenny. | tenapen
29/10/2006 23:43 | kenny, what is ho hum? | 76tom
29/10/2006 20:29 | kenny, you are not totally missed SIN rise, in a long term, 46p is still very good price. It may be drop back a bit (not sure), but will see on monday. :-> tom | 76tom
29/10/2006 20:19 | I sold these at 32p so i could get a quick in-out of mmg at the recient results. I hoped for good news and a nice profit and buy back into SIN :-(. sold MMG to another lose and missed the SIN rise. ho hum. good luck tom. kenny | tenapen

29/10/2006 17:59 | Hi Outsider, 76tom may know a bit about Ashpool as i have posted about it more than few times on the MMG board of which tom visits. (i own 1.4% so im am also biased in favour of ASHP). kenny. | tenapen |
