A lot will depend on how they plan to run a store estate. It's clearly the most risky part of the strategy. N Brown tried this to raise "brand awareness" and failed. They leased about 20 stores and closed them 5 years ago due to weak demand. Having said that, they are also in decline as an online only retailer. Mike Ashley is after them, but only for the customer loan part of the business probably.

Do we believe them when they say they can fund these plans with current cash levels? I am not sure I do. I have strong doubts. Would need to see more detail. Post Xmas update will provide a better idea on how the higher margin strategy is fairing.

Sell off seems overdone.
Can see this being back to high teens early twenties once the dust has settled.

Saw that W13Ken. Nothing else new in the presentation.
As I said, the story is fine, but I am disappointed in the numbers that must feed the story - however good the management is.

I bought the dip. I still believe the long term plan.

Which one?

Shops, bad idea IMO. Let's hope they see the light quickly and it doesn't drag it under. In the meantime bottom drawer for a few years at the best.

Hi monty,No I want to keep some distance from mgt while I digest todays news. So at present Im neither a buyer nor seller. What theyve achieved to date is highly impressive, and I see it positively longer term, but today is a big setback. But its not about me, its about Sosandar, and we all have our own views on it.Regards, Paul.

they mentioned not resupplying JL in the webinar this morning, and confirmed that no longer selling via JL would have an immaterial impact on third party sales.

They showed a graphic showing 3rd party sales at 0.9m two years ago to 16m last year. the vast majority of sales being made by Next and Mks.

interested to learn that the Canadian partner has brocks and mortar presence as well as being a major online retailer. seems like a good choice for partnering with optionality built in to progressing the arrangement.
