SPE must be one of very few companies which might actually benefit from the coronavirus situation. This mornings rns is certainly encouraging.

Portugull: Thanks, sounds good. If the 11 June AGM happens I will try to go (assuming the day job allows) in order to learn more about the company and meet management - but the chances of a physical meeting happening look slim right now, given covid...

Bamboo2: Yes, thanks. I am not fussed either way. I suspect the share price will go up a bit for a while now (due to Naked Trader & hangers-on buying with little liquidity + also self-fulfilling technical prophecies) but then also be quite likely to come down again if the broader market weakens (which many seem to expect).

vprt your post 2698 re "hands on" I meant that CFO was very involved and on the ball.
When a busy CFO takes the trouble to phone back a private shareholder I take that as a very positive sign.
I very rarely phone a Company were I have a holding without good reason.

Even after the tick up to 730-770 just now, there are just 15 shares available to buy online currently. Looking strong

Guess you mean 4-5/5/2020 as we’re in May now. If we get close to 933 in the next 6-8 weeks, that’ll be very satisfying.

Hi Bamboo. That situation won't have been helped by the update by Robbie Burns yesterday. He said -

"Sopheon (SPE) has been looking strong during the virus outbreak and
we saw at the online seminar that level 2 looked very strong indeed.

It has a good pile of net cash (remember net cash is your friend right now!).
One of the few to maintain its dividend - and it said the final quarter had seen
one of the strongest on record for deal flow.

It claims the market is ready for its move to cloud services and its staff
can easily work from home. This one should get through the current
crisis and is still 50pc lower than its high, so upside is there."

vprt the management are very hands on.
I have a position and spoke to the CFO 2/3 months ago when he kindly returned my call.
He emphasised the management had no intention of selling their shares and I think this is a good company with increasing ARR at $15.9m on 31.12.19.
Worth reading the Annual Results published on 19th March. DYOR.

Thanks, Bamboo2. So, for now it remains in a long downtrend, despite the recent uptick.

I like a lot about this company, but the ongoing SAAS transition depresses short term profits to a fraction of previously, so valuation using a conventional PE ratio becomes quite difficult / rich. I am encouraged by the low EV/revenue multiple though, and would love to see a longer term forecast of how the bottom line is likely to build.

I hold a small starter stake which I may add to as I learn more about the company, and if business progress is good. Any comments/views about management would be very welcome.

Hi vrpt, Interesting point. The longer term falling upper trendline currently needs a share price close above approx 780 to breakout. As the line is falling, the breakout becomes easier to attain every day by about 3p.

Price is currently resisted by 200sma at 747

Once price arrives near to historical resistance, I will look again at new higher targets based on INVH&S/bowls etc.

bamboo2 - is not the more striking chart pattern to analyse and highlight here from January 2019 until today? (And has that negative trend now conclusively been broken?)

FYI, I am not a user of charts / lack knowledge about them, so have no basis for technical analysis/views...

Global Home-working?I am not up to date with the evolving functionality of Accolade and I was thinking about it's attractions/affordability to big corporates when budgets are going to become stressed......But will it alternatively become part a core part of enabling their arms-length home-working? Any thoughts? tightfist

After the much more positive trading update in January the chart is looking rather encouraging now and closing in on some important resistance levels. As long as the next outlook statement is similar to the last then there is a good chance that we are at the start of another profitable holding period for shareholders.
