If you do business in Egypt you'll know its incredibly hard getting paid and the situation has got worse, not better since the last update. The deal still has to be signed off by the government hence why the market isn't pricing it any higher. No one (and highly likely this includes SDX) knows how much they will get paid, and when. No buyer is going to pay anywhere near NAV when its surrounded in so much risk

How much of that do you think they will get out of Egypt?

Egytian net assets worth $25m as at 30/06.I have never heard of a businesss being sold for less than asset value. This will solve any cash flow problem

A question for the next shareholder meeting. They have new management who will want to stamp their own authority on it so the last thing will be shutting and divvying it up

This company should be sold, and the proceeds returned to stock holders.

I wonder if they have considered that.

Only selling on the back of this.

Basically it won't encourage more financiers to step in and fund the next stage

Is this good news though? What were they expecting?

I would expect a little more pomp if they had struck gold...half of the statement was repeating what we already know

A little good news at last but where is the mention of the takeover of the Egyptian assets going forward as planned?

They have cash flow problems - it is almost impossible to raise today (see the awful terms they accepted with Aleph) so a company like CITIC will not accept anything less than a deal heavily in their favour - why else would they?

This all rests on them striking gold in the latest drilling program - either that or partnering with a major backer allowing them to grow organically (which will not be a quick fix to the share price).

Its a potential long-term turnaround play - by that I mean 3-5 years

So what are thinking then. Market seems to say no value to the deal...

Any cash pile should be massively discounted because they have a long history of destroying value and will remain significantly FCF negative.

nah, you never get the value expressed properly in the share price. They'll be a modest rise, retrace and then I expect it to settle at about 6-7p. BWTFDIK

There might not have been a discount. Could have been based on the contractual rate for Morrocco? that Gould fella said hes open to questions, well perhaps that is one that we could ask.

How big a discount did they accept for CITIC to agree prepayment?

no, I mean the next year and beyond as this will see them over the line in Egypt. Once the Egypt deal is done, they won't be worrying about how to pay the bills for at least another year or two!
