AHT had solid results today - could be a good reflection for SOM.

Cause they still saw the market an trading to be improving and therefore div could be maintained. Hopefully we are doing great again and can keep growing again.

Sorry for posting again...
I cant work out on what basis the dividend payment has been increased at the light of the trading update and half year results. Could anyone shed some light on that decision?

Has been a good day today, 6% up here. 30% up on DTMR and did alright on CGNR, they jumped up 15% too. One to watch tomorrow is INSP, they’re converting notes at 15% higher than the share price so can expect an instant tick up in the morning. Think this is going to be a good week!

The rise is, however, interesting given the strength in sterling. OK that in itself doesn't have much influence on Somero's own earnings, but it does restraining effect the level of dividends received by UK shareholders.

I ve been asking an insider at SOm about the sky screed and which companies purchased it. R four contracting as they announced was the first and apparently Phaze concrete bought it as well. After asking about kent companies (which they made a video on it) he has said: "Kent Co worked with us on initial testing of the machine. Ultimately they did not purchase but it was their decision. Sales have been split evenly between US and Canada and we have plenty of opportunities coming in the near weeks."After that I ask about if the split was 1:1 or they were more sales to which his answer: "Multiple. If you're looking for further information reach out to Jennifer Oliver for Investor Relations. "

I see CRH mentioned weather conditions had been more favourable in US, in their trading update. Hope this bodes well for SOM who seemed to struggle with weather related issues earlier.

When you say long term are you talking 5-10 years? I guess if they use the lull to develop their tech and business plan and essentially invest for the future then you are probably right. Certainly if they can keep paying the divi at its current rate that would reassure me.

I am not selling any share. I trust management and they are still positive about the outlook. Longterm

Somero are US based and have to pay the witholding tax over to the US authorities. It's got nothing to do with where their shareholders are. Are you suggesting Somero pay extra to their UK based shareholders to make up the difference?

I guess if one has a good chunk of money in SOM the question is - forgotten for how long? Tempted to take some of my current holding that is at a 19 percent loss and get it working else where for a while - or just leave it here until things pick up again.
