If i was a CGP holder i would take it with both hands .. what have they to lose they also gain 75 possible sites and if they decide to hold more upside if solgold find another Alpala or solgold are taken out . Cant see why it wont go through but thats just my opinión.

rougepierre,

Like you, I would prefer a deal with Barrick. Bristow is a tough negotiator but I think he may come up with an offer that could keep alive NMs ambition to establish a new copper gold major in Ecuador. For example, Barrick could buy Solg to develop the tier 1 asset Cascabel and float off a separate exploration focused vehicle comprising all/the majority of the regional assets and enough cash for at least two years of exploration. This gives NM the chance to discover a second Alpala or more. Barrick would maintain a minority stake in newco Solg which would help in future financing.

As far as I know, Barrick have not got block caving expertise but I doubt this would deter them for a moment. Bristow is a firm advocate of stakeholders and "partnership" with host governments and should like what Solg have achieved in Ecuador.

Lowtrawler you are right ,

Will Newcrest take them up giving them 20% of solgold and 15% of Ensa ?not sure they would want the 15% of Ensa as it is controlled by solgolds 85% plus they would have to pay 300 million when solgold funds the project .

Cornerstone dont really have anything other than the 7.6% shares in solgold . I think they have to take the deal or find a buyer .. who is going to buy them no one imho

The share price will be flat until September if no bid comes in but who can afford to be out .

I am sure Newcrest are talking to Cornerstone and BHP .

Could be Newcrest take Cornertone and then bid for Solgold which would then release BHP to make a bid .

You have to laugh at CGP complaining about the timing and trying to bring BHP into it. They need someone, anyone, to buy them, they just don't want it to be SOLG.

Arcadian.

Dont think they can wait much longer as we will be financed. Then what for BHP and Cornerstone .? In a way they are in the worst positions as its completly out of their control .

I agree with your assessment of the situation. The book trades are controlling this and it would make sense to strike before the new drilling results although I doubt whether, given the proximity of those results and finance, any low offer would be entertained.

We need

Patience Finance and Successful drilling

to change all our perspectives re what is possible re these amazing assets.

Agreed mk

and I should have added....our thanks to jwafc who posted the CGP Release above.....

Also CGP finish off by saying....

"Cornerstone shareholders are advised to take no action in connection with the Hostile Bid until the Board of Directors has made a formal recommendation to shareholders. An independent committee of the Board will consider and evaluate the Hostile Bid, with the assistance of financial and legal advisors, and the Board will make a formal recommendation to shareholders and file a Directors’ Circular within 15 days, in accordance with Canadian securities laws."

So within 15 days time we will here more from CGP....wonder if they can convince Newcrest to come with them....

Goldrush .

They obviously feel when out of the agreement they will make an offer to cornerstone . I think they will buy only if they hold in to their 7.6% of solgold shares .

Problem for Cornerstone and BHP is if NM funds the mine before the 14th of October . Thats why i feel this month someone will make a move .

Exciting times . Added a few today .

Gold near a 9 year high solgold 21p with 23million oz minimum.

From CGP announcement this sums up the situation perfectly.....IMHO

"Cornerstone believes that the timing of SolGold’s announcement is highly dubious given the deadline for Cornerstone shareholders to tender their shares is October 14, 2020. One can assume it is intended to pre-empt Cornerstone’s ability to enter into a value enhancing transaction with third parties, such as BHP that have an unusual standstill that does not expire until October 19, 2020."

Time running out we need drilling results pronto .

As lowtrawler says unlikely to get them before August so July would be the time to strike imho .

NM is expecting the bid as he keeps saying the share price is dangerously low .

You can see from the At trades as soon as the Sp starts to run it put down .. this is not normal trading imho .

You could buy 10 million and the Sp will not rise .

Dont think we will takeoff until the bid comes in .. They want to have shareholders happy to take 40p imho .

Just add as many as you feel happy with until the bid comes .

The CGP bid has gone as everyone would have expected. It will now just sit on the table until October or another predator arrives to take them out.

Nick and the SOLG Board know there is virtually no chance that CGP can fund their share of the build once the DFS is produced and so CGP need to sell to someone (or get new SOLG Board members who give them a sweetheart deal).

There must be a real danger for CGP that a big player acquires SOLG without them and forces CGP to pony up for the build (or handover their ownership for a pittance). CGP shareholders may become better informed about what is in their best interests if a SOLG takeover is launched before the CGP offer expires.

In my view, CGP are likely to do well if they side with the successful hostile bidders but they could be hung out to dry if they pick the wrong party. If there are no bidders, they're probably up a certain creek without a paddle.

Cornerstone still hold 7.6% of solgold shares .

Who gains from the share price staying low ?

Game could be all but over for BHP by the time they can make an offer . Does that mean someone else are preparing a bid before Franco and finace are sorted ?

They dont have much time .. i suspect an offer will come before July is finished .

We do not know what is going on behind the scenes.
As SOLG price rises a rejected offer by CGP will be regretted.

If only NM could now land CGP with a much accelerated DFS, suddenly having to find their share of cost might concentrate hearts and minds. However NM presumably has anticipated this rejection, and at least knows how the land lies now. A would be predator now knows that CGP is there for the taking, as an entre' to the poker game.

Warren Irwin is now gunning for a whole of the "puppet board" as well as Nick Mather on twitter. A cornerstone shareholder suggesting a Solgold general meeting should be called. He is consistent as said the same 12 months ago....

"...As a Solgold shareholder, via my interest in Cornerstone, Nick Mather and his puppet board are blowing our money on stupid, ridiculous hostile takeover bids fuelled by his ego and the board's inability to stand up to stupid. We need to replace them all!!!"

"...I think it is inevitable that a shareholder meeting will be called to vote out Nick and his puppet board of directors, get some real leadership in the company and toss out the Franco deal which neither BHP, Newcrest or Cornerstone want."

CGP release indicates over 50% of shareholders intend not to accept the deal. Seems unlikely to succeed.

"Cornerstone has already been advised today by shareholders that collectively own or control over 50% of the outstanding common shares of the Company that they intend to REJECT the Hostile Bid and WILL NOT TENDER their shares."

Lot of negative posts. Few of us wearing blinkers.
Been round and round this mulberry bush so many times.
Can't agree with any criticism of NM.
Can't agree CGP share offer by SOLG will be rejected.
Shareholder's don't have to follow board directive.
Don't agree SOLG will be taken over.
Possibility Alpala could be sold off, maybe to Barrick.
Very very last chance to top up>Done so @ 20.45p
