I sent a little email to Anna asking her if the cornestone affair had not been pushed through by Solg Because Newcrest were going to take it up .etc etc .


Her answer was that she couldnot confirm it ......

However she didnot deny it .........

Heads up there is a possibility that new cash might not come from a equity placing but a new / existing investors

Permits should be forthcoming very soon
Resource update very soon

So permit ,then resources update then new investments from others

I said the same thing at the begining of the year, when they finish the drilling end of year, and release the latest MRE, with still no drilling permits, they will have to shut shop, until they receive these permits, but what are 800 staff doing everyday now, completly out of contrl tjis now, NM should have stepped down 12 months ago, money is running out fast with 800 staff all sitting round doing nothing, you can see why, complete dog of a share.

Wouldn't RTZ have bought CGP by now if they were interested? Although a three corner fight might help small holders a bit. I suspect that RTZ have enough to be going on with given the troubles at their huge Mongolian mine.

My idea about a possible scenario also makes sense of the drill permits mysteriously being withheld, keeping the price down to help Newcrest make a deal, makes sense. Gold is going in the right direction, now we need Donald to kiss and make up with Xi to get copper back on track. It feels like a long shot, but it just all might come together late October?

Alpha - sort of agree.

Someone bought 250k shares 10 mins ago and bought within spread with no price movement.

Someone sold 2300 shares this morning and price went down accordingly.

Another 5+% down on £200k worth of shares traded today and part of that £200k will be buys.

Those selling now thinking there maybe a placing at 20p might get a big suprise of a 300 percent rise in a month or so .

Risk reward does not add up in my book .

Another possibility is RIO TINTO will make a move to buy Cornerstone . They already own 30 odd percent . That would be good for SOLGOLDS SP
Because we then have a 3 way fight .

Yes .. Because our and their share price is half of what it was a couple of months ago.

An offer of 60 percent over todays share price would no doubt be accepted by most .

If Lefrene is right two things would happen .

1. Our share price would climb in line with the offer .. maybe more . BHP could then pay 45 to 60p for approx 15 percent of SOLGOLD shares NM would no doubt get his options at 60p..

Yes , around the 19th of october we may get an answer if Newcrest and cornerstone are currently agreeing on a fair price .

Shareholders simply don't know what the game plan is, and of course if they were told then the plan wouldn't work. It is however galling to see the value of the company trashed on the market, when everyday they must be finding more and more evidence of valuable buried metal, now about 300 days worth not reported.

Our posts crossed mknight, it is of course only a guess, but it's a potential scenario that makes sense to me. But if that was the plan, say 8 or 9 months ago, why not let Newcrest out of purdah earlier? Unless NM has been riding two horses at the same time, one being a joint deal involving both Newcrest and BHP, and the 2nd being a run at it on his own via Bank borrowings?

I guess that it adds value if he can get favourable Bank lending, since Newcrest and BHP might also prefer using loan capital rather than using their own. About another month of exasperation before things become clearer is my guess.

I think out of all the posts i have read on this BB and others your assumption that Newcrest are going to buy cornerstone and then BHP will fund us to match Newcrests new holding in the best and only possible reason why we have nearly a complete blank out of news in the last 9 months.

So well done for that and we shall stay peeled until news drives us back up to 45p .

Just get the placing out the way. The city spivvs know exactly what’s to come, so give the shareholders the same info.

They are allowed to trade on inside information and we are the dummies left holding the baton.

Get it sorted NM before your in court for insider dealing.

mknight, they must just be picking up great fat nuggets of pure gold that's lying about on the surface! Yup that's bound to be it :¬) But don't tell the shareholders anything just yet! Well not a year at least!

So sit on good news to keep the value down so that Newcrest can buy up Cornerstone more cheaply after 17th Oct? Is that the game plan? If that is the plan then why not just let Newcrest out of purdah early, with a matching arrangement with BHP?
