Me too. Small beer and just want to show that I continue to believe in the assets and support the newly organised board.

Can't see why it's an offer ? Probably get them cheaper than 2.25p anyway.

The more I look at Messrs Ferguson and Fitzpatrick, the more I feel confident in my Sipp and Isa’s future. They make me sufficiently confident in the company’s future, that I will take up the open offer. Could be good times ahead for us long-suffering investors - including both Mr. F’s

Yes, I’ve just bought in. Seems a good opportunity at this price?

I’ve held solo on and off for years, hoping to get it right this time!

Anybody doubting the credentials of the new solo board and their ability to monetise Horse Hill and the Tanzanian gas assets?

One ran Wytch Farm for BP, the other guy brokered the £1.2bn Tanzanian Cove deal to PTTEP.

More Malcy on solo

Solo has announced this morning that it has raised £2.41m through a firm and conditional placing at 2.25p, a 5% discount. In addition the company may raise a further £1.2m as it has announced an Open Offer for shareholders at the same price on a 1:9 basis. The company say that they need the capital to ‘safeguard our equity positions and negotiate the best deals for shareholders’. They also accept that ‘whilst the raising of that capital is dilutive at the existing shareholder level, it is a necessary function to protect and enhance the inherent value within the portfolio’.
Given the fact that they have put in place an Open Offer for shareholders, combined with the fact that the new board, with decent skin in the game are clearly not hanging around I see no reason why holders should not take up their offer, as I understand it the placings were substantially oversubscribed. Furthermore it is clear that things are going on at Solo, with a new, dynamic leadership and a topped up balance sheet it seems to me that transactions are definitely in the wind. Solo is most definitely growing up, nothing is off the table and at long last this company may start to deliver, it’s payback time and I suspect the ride will be fun, one for the pocket book, as they say

Let's hope so, I'm confident but this needs to seriously move north, it's undervalued on all fronts

Monday is indeed a big day for SOLO, in the Words of Malcy.

More changes at Solo as has been telegraphed lately as Alastair Ferguson joins the board and will become Chairman on 6th August. Neil Ritson will leave the board that day and remain only as a technical advisor. This signals the very serious approach I mentioned when Jon Fitzpatrick joined the board recently as Ferguson has very heavyweight credentials from BP, TNK BP, Zoltav Resources and JKX Oil & Gas. A leading player in the industry today told me that Ferguson has ‘forgotten more about gas than most people ever learn’.
The transformation continues at Solo where I get the distinct impression that nothing is sacred and everything is on the table which should bode very well for shareholders in coming months. I suspect that this board is going to get things done and at a rapid pace especially following the canny deal by Aminex recently shines the spotlight on the Ruvuma asset…

surely solo must be the most undervalued of horsehill plays? Stakeholders in activities at Horse Hill include AIM traded firms UK Oil and Gas (UKOG), which holds a 32.435% beneficial interest, Solo Oil, which holds a 9.75% interest, Alba Mineral Resources, which has an 11.765% interest, Gunsynd, which holds a 1.3% interest, and Primorus Investments, a 3.25% interest.
