So am I right in thinking that whoever buys the government stake becomes a partner with Cornerstone even though the latter have few funds to do any exploration. Cornerstone could even be bought by whoever takes the government stake. This will surely alter the usefulness of the sale price as a value guide for Solg but as the date of the sale does not seem to have been fixed it may be at a time when Solg and maybe Cornerstone are long gone.

Cornerstone Capital Resources Inc. said March 6 that its joint venture partner, Ecuador's state mining company Enami EP, obtained a number of mineral concessions in the Imbabura and Carchi provinces of the country for exploration.

Ecuador's Ministry of Mining granted on March 3 eight new concessions, comprising more than 37,182 hectares. Additional titles in northwest Ecuador are also expected to be granted in the coming weeks.

The concessions are subject to the standard rules under the Ecuadorian Mining Law.

Cornerstone unit Cornerstone Ecuador SA signed a definitive agreement with Enami in June 2016 to jointly prospect and explore for mineral deposits in Ecuador.

I disagree with your view that it was biased and because he had been paid expenses by CGP previously.

A 22% premium is distinctly miserly to get the deal with CGP done....40% then you have a chance....

At the end of the day it decidedly looks as though this will all go hostile....hopefully we will all get a lot more than the 40p you have been mentioning....

This article is has strategic relevence for mining in Ecuador and references SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador.

Ecuador will look to auction its 51% interest in the Llurimagua copper-molybdenum project once state mineral company Enami has completed formation of a joint venture company with its partner, Chile’s state copper company Codelco, in coming months.

Nick Mather responds via Peter Kerr via the ever interesting AFR (behind paywall) SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador.

''Taking their mining guy off our board is a sort of dog in the manger act by Newcrest,'' said Mr Mather, in a reference to a greek fable about spitefully denying things to those who need them.

Agreed goldrush - Reading that other well-known board, they suggest that interview was completely biased. I don't beleive they listened to it and have let their own biases get in the way. It was informed and well considered. He is a long time holder in Solgold (not currently as he beleives there is more upside in Cornerstone) but does have the company as a buy in his newsletter!

He was wrong .. his example of lowball offer was silly . If the price Solgold were offering was in currency then yes agreed but its not its in shares and yes solgold and cornerstone maybe be both undervalued but i repeat the offer was in undervalued solgold Shares which will go up at some point ...

Good morning

Chris temple admits he has been paid
By Cornerstone which says it all really .

Back to more free money .. how much can the seller lose today in an attempt to keep the share price low so that when the offer comes in it will look good .

I dont think holders are that stupid as they know within 3 months an offer over 40p will be made for Solgold .

I am not talking pounds i am talking 40p which now probably undervalues Solgold by a good bit .

At 23.65 p its a steal ..

They want to spend as little as possible .

Would you want to sell at 23p knowing that you would lose 17 to 27p a share . Its the bigger game they are playing .i.ho

Whoever these "titans" are, they don't have very deep pockets. Yesterday's excess volume was only £0.5m and we are heading towards a similar figure today.

Anything is possible now. Seemed to me like one desperate to keep it down and the other not wanting the Sp to run away and accumalating everything possible around 23p .
