It is of course his opinion and only that .

My opinion if he is right is Alpala will be worth double what it is currently valued .

The rest zero at the moment .

My personal opinion is Blanca y Nieve will be given a permit as its needed to fund Solgolds share in Alpala.

Chris Temple from the National Investor interviewed on geopolitics in Ecuador $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador SolGold

6:45mins onwards talks about the previous CC decisions/wins for the extractive industry and now with his self-imposed wounds on the fuel subsidies a potential backtrack now to appease indigenous communities against any future new concessions in their localities. He will be shocked if the timetable to enable future concessions is not delayed.

This will be back to 40p very soon and then start it's climb beyond. Don't forget this stock now has 2bln possible shares in float with all the options exercised. Once the get close to a jorc and FID then we will see the. Real value out here sit tight and look back in in 6 months from today.

Peace for now, apparently going to work together to solve economic problems. Perhaps this will turn out well for the miners after all.

Say's 60p here. I thought the rns was a sop to fed up shareholders to indicate that options at 60p were expected to have a worthwhile future value.

No, the last RNS was for 60p although there are 21.25m options at 40p out there.

Erm, they are 60p options, and I imagine that somewhere in Oz most Friday afternoons the head honcho's of both outfits get to have a few tinnies together :¬)

mknight, that sounds a more likely scenario, why would BHP and Newcrest fight when they can get Solg for much less by cooperating on getting control of CGP and then on sharing expertise and costs in building the mine?

You think Solgold.Newcrest and BHP are not talking ?

Those 40p options might have been a clue to where this is going .

That would be interesting, and no doubt CGP holders would be happy having two big bidders slugging it out. Also whatever they paid for CGP's 15% would give a guide to how much they really value Solg. Lets hope for a quiet day in Quito and the following days.

Francoismyname .

Not sure that would be that smart .

Solgold have had many months to buy Cornerstone and did not . So they have left the door open for Newcrest . No doubt BHP will fund Solgold for the same amount as Newcrest pays Cornerstone and fot the same amount of shares .as long as it doesnot take them over 50 percent of the company then we can all jog along together as partners .

If newcrest and cornerstone were the parties who voted against Mather at the AGM a few weeks back , dont be surprised if Solg cancel the 2 YEAR standstill agreement with BHP and allow them to bid for Cornerstone.

So who thinks NEWCREST will be making a bid for Cornerstone in the coming weeks ?

Doubled up sub 17.50 last week having sold half at 21+...

I still believe...patience...

Have a look at the share price history at ATYM as a comparison...shares tanked to 80p on uncertainty but hit 250p only 18 months later...

If the story is sound the shares will perform...its only a matter of time...

Ecuador ranks 87 out of 178 in the most Fragile States index...

Better than Brazil, India and Russia, with Venezuela at 32...

I've been there...lovely country...in Quito, like any other City (including London and Leeds) you take care where you walk at night...

Best white water rafting we ever did, in the interior...

Galapagos is part of Ecuador...

This sort of thing is about par for the course in Latin America, one hopes that things will now calm down, and perhaps Mereno will think a bit more carefully before acting the dictator? Ecuador plainly needs foreign earnings and thus it needs exports, so perhaps they will make greater efforts to smooth the path for miners?

This might be the week that makes a difference if the uprising is over and Newcrest make any moves when they come out of purdah on the 17th. Perhaps followed by a long overdue update from the company.

It's all a question of how BHP and Newcrest now view Ecuador from an investment perspective. I don't know if the recent troubles will have scared them off. If not, think you are right and we should see significant upside.

Certainly lots of news due shortly.

Report due this quarter
Major shareholder off the leash later this week
Permits due

Anyone of those could be a major boost to the current share price.

Can’t see much downside from here.
