So the silence is Brocken. About all they really could say given the situation there. Two out comesSituation breaks down and revolution/ anarchy ensues. We are screwed. The government regains control. share price returns towards the 40's and we all smile.

I believe it's the 17th Oct mknight, a week today they come out of purdah and can buy more shares if they wish. I'm not expecting anything unless they wish to accumulate at these low prices. I would expect them to be talking to BHP who are still free to buy I believe up to another 49 million shares.

All parties have had time to come up with a plan, but current events will likely give pause to see how things turn out politically, before deciding what to do.

The resource isn't going anywhere, so until copper prices reflect the 'shortage' talk, I presume no one will feel it necessary to hurry.

Lefeene when are NEWCREST free to buy Cornestone.. in the next few days ?

What will happen to our share price once they make an agreement with Cornerstone ?

Will BHP fund us to the tune of 200 million ?

Will the permit arrive for Blanca y Nieve ?

Will we be joint partners in Alpala .

If all this has been agreed NM does not need to worry much .

Might even get that award .

It will come back to a deserved level once those causing unrest tire of their new daily routine.

Will we see any changes in substantial holdings be announced? This weakness would be a good time for predators to scoop up some ammo.

I do wonder whether it would have ever dropped this far without the unrest. If not you could say the drop was definitely overdone but the way the share price has been drifting of recent it may simply have accelerated the bottoming process.

Yes, it has built a great deep bottom for a new upward trend. Fingers crossed

Someone will wake up soon and realise that a market cap of 315 m is just too good to resist . 60p would probably buy us today . Thats under a billion .

I don't doubt in the long term the resource will get extracted and that it will be one of the big hitters doing it, but here we are in the short term! It looks to me most likely that Newcrest and BHP will do some kind of joint deal, no Bank is going to want to lend money to a project in Ecuador for a while, if at all.

Lefrene

Many have gone in the last few months an aannoucement of funding through BhP and Newcrest would take many of them out for good .

We may get to 10 million shares traded today but up against 1.8 billion its peanuts .

Alpala will run for 60 years a few days unrest in nothing .

I wouldn't know who is "done" as I'm not on the ground there. Moreno would seem to be a man who is patient and knows how to time things, which suggests an ability to plan. I don't think he is finished yet. As for Solg, if it comes to the worst they cease operations for a while until there's some clarity, but in the meantime the radio silence allows FUD to flourish. This silence might be part of a plan to rid the share register of as many small holders as possible?

Lef, you are deluding yourself. Moreno is done! Neoliberalism does not work anywhere, let alone South America. The Indians know that. This company will struggle to raise money given the political uncertainty in Equador. I do understand that holders here have been hit hard for months with many doubling down. But there are better prospects to play the coming bull market in PMs.

Moreno needs to find and expose a few 'villains', those sharply hiking food prices on the excuse of diesel costing $2 a gallon instead of $1 a gallon. The extra cost spread over a ten ton load is trivial, but I doubt the tribes have the wit to realise this?

If Moreno can push through these changes and get the country on a solid path to solvency, then Ecuador could become a jewel in Latin America. But no doubt common sense doesn't get you very far in politics, as we know only too well in the UK!
