10/10/2019 08:59 | I think those that sold yesterday will want to get back in. I certainly do as I appreciate the potential. Unfortunately that potential is currently outweighed by the politics. I'd be happy to buy back in at 15 or 25 once I'm happier with the risk. It's not a price issue. | ![]() mikalan
10/10/2019 08:36 | Pob69 quite binary - SOLG gets exposed as an IMF "symbol". Lets hope for the best. | ![]() kaos3

09/10/2019 21:03 | A couple of contrasting articles about "environmentalism and terrorism" and "Australian mining companies complicit in escalation of unrest in Ecuador" $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador SolGold. This is of relevence taken from the Rainforest Action Group article... “...The reforms by the Ecuadorian government are part of IMF mandates that seek to open Ecuador further to international investment..." "...The government continues to move ahead with plans to increase mining concessions, axing taxes so that mining companies can operate with lower overheads, and providing armed forces to ensure the security on the sites of these proposed mines. The IMF loan was provisioned on foreign investment, particularly the strategic mining projects such as SolGold’s proposed Cascabel mine which acts as collateral for the loans. | ![]() pob69

09/10/2019 16:22 | He's being leant on by the IMF, stuck between a rock and a hard place, I just hope they do their best to explain the economics to the population, getting some understanding would buy him some breathing space. The country has huge assets compared to the small population, anywhere in the West would have exploited them by now, but like so many places in Latin America they seem easily led by liars promising the earth, one of whom (the previous president) is waiting in the wings in Belgium. I believe an election is not due until 2021, so Moreno has a fairly tight window to show that his measures will work. So he had best get on and enable wealth creators to crack on, instead of having them sitting waiting on drill permits! | ![]() lefrene
09/10/2019 15:55 | Yes but you donot upset the voter as he has done if you want another 4 years evenmore when he didnot need to . | ![]() mknight
09/10/2019 15:33 | mknight if Moreno has planned this properly and it works out ok, it will be good for the country to be seen as responsible and safer to do business with, hopefully the fruits of that will feed through to the population, a better outcome than going the way of Venezuela. | ![]() lefrene
09/10/2019 15:30 | I hope that's not like one of those 'architectural' awards which swiftly turn out to be a carbuncle with lipstick! The award couldn't be for enhancing the share price! | ![]() lefrene
09/10/2019 14:59 | Thanks pob69 Think he needs to show it ASAP. | ![]() mknight
09/10/2019 14:52 | Nick Mather is included in the shortlist for "CEO of the Year Emerging Company" at Mines and Money London 26/11 $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador SolGold. | ![]() pob69
09/10/2019 14:28 | Latest news is there are alot less people on the street and things are calming .The President has been on TV blaming the opposition for the problems on the streets . | ![]() mknight
09/10/2019 14:14 | Blimey Lefrene dont cut your wrists just yet . Its always been Newcrest and BHP. Ecuador needs mining and multinationals This will blow over Imho . | ![]() mknight
09/10/2019 13:58 | Lol kaos3. Yes, but perhaps without the accustomed haughty sneering :¬) I suppose our expensive skilled financial fixer is pretty much redundant now? I can't any Banks wanting to get into yet another chaotic Latin American bee's nest. So it would seem more likely that a Newcrest/BHP joint venture might be on the cards, indeed if anything at all. | ![]() lefrene
09/10/2019 13:58 | Capitulation!, could easily be the day of that, the large sell off early morning and the bounce since, volume is the clue and is there also. Capitulation! Capitulation can happen at any time, but typically happens during high volume trading and extended declines for securities. The price should then, theoretically, reverse or bounce off the lows. In other words, some investors believe that capitulation is the sign of a bottom. | ![]() cielos
09/10/2019 13:49 | But you are not dealing with a western society, this is a largely tribal and uneducated emotive population that knows not to trust authority. So winning them over is going to take some effort. It doesn't look as though there has been any preamble to these changes, no attempt to inform the public as to why they are necessary. They have effectively had their wages cut and the price of fuel hiked at the same time. But with Venezuela close by as an example of what could happen tom them, perhaps the population will after some unrest come around to recognising and accepting that there had to be changes. | ![]() lefrene
09/10/2019 13:23 | Greenelf I agree with that ,they need to bring it down to a correct level . Then pump up the mining sector which they can make billions . And before someone says they will nationalize it . They cannot afford the original costs they need multinationals to make it happen . | ![]() mknight
09/10/2019 13:06 | So 7 million traded and 1.8 billion shares. | ![]() mknight |
