One day rodders

Cannot see it happening , of course the market has to have a year or two down but if you had 5 million and wanted a return for your money where would you put it ? A 2 percent bond is not enough for most . So i see value in companies that pay good dividends pick out a hundred that pay 4 percent plus and you should do well long term.

Intriguingly just got searched on LinkedIn by Pacific Asset Managment nothing to do with my line of work. So I guess there's at least some interest from the larger investors.

Time goes by, the world population increases, the value of real and useful things tend to move up against fiat currencies. Thus in a way having these extractable assets in the ground is better than having fiat cash in the Bank. I'm thinking about the other exciting prospects that Solg holds which will be there in the dowry when Alpala is resolved.

mwv1 - thanks for that...puts things into perspective..cheers

zeus - reporting of trades is a minefield...I don't even bother looking any-more. Relative daily volumes are worth focusing on but individual trades become meaningless in the greater scheme of things

ONly have to report a trade if that was the total size of the trade. If the whole amount hasnt been filled then they can delay the reporting. likewaise if it is significantly greater than normal mraket size.

Quick look at Tecks QB2 for which $1.2b for 30% was paid this week. Will have an initial throughput of 140,000 TPD or about 50mTpy.This will initially be at about 0.65% cu eq to give an output of 320,000T Cu eq per year. All for an investment build cost of $4.7b.

For Alpala we will have an initial investment of about $2.5b for a 20mTpy mine focussed on the high grade core. This will be the 120mT at over 2.4% Cu eq. Giving production of about 450,000 T Cu eq per year. Over the first few years thry will invest another $2b to double throughput to 40mTpy at the lower grade of 1.4% once high grade core exhausted. Giving production of over 500,000T Cu eq per year.

On this basis Alpala will have a hugely better NPV or discounted cash flow model and so will be worth a premium to QB2. QB2s valuation already would put us way over £1.

QB2 has a 2 to 3 year head start on Alpala, but it gives an idea of the value Nick will be looking at once PFS and BFS are completed.

My guess in excess of $5b at end of 2020 if everyone waits till then.

MK Mirabeau Although trades usually come through immediately or +1 hour or +2 hours, I understand from another board that the market makers actually have 3 working days to report trades. Not sure if that's the case here but I have seen some trades reported next working day - who knows why!

So what reason would it not be published today.

Yes, I see. If it was an executed trade then it's usually delayed by 1 hour or so but if it was then it should be surely published today. It doesn't make any difference who the buyer-seller is...
