That's a big buy for SOLG.
Don't think they will be able to keep price down much longer.
Sooner or later someone will have to show their hand.
Surprised price is still below 30p.

Your views are shared with the few of us stalwarts on this thread.
Only drawback has been progress on share price slow .
Definitely need news. Please ,please, lets have it soon.
Strange no rumours take over or jv deals.
Lets hope NM wants to enjoy his just desserts himself.

As for 100p and 200p valuations, I'm going to wait for a fresh set of figures which I hope won't be too long. But I believe that Cascabel will be parted from the other holdings in Solg so that money can be available to mine Solg's other holdings amongst the 70+, as I suspect that NM will have rather more asset amongst them than sits in Cascabel. I would not be at all surprised to learn that ultimately Cascabel will have 15 million tons cu eqv, which at $6000 a ton at todays prices is $90 billion. Given the near ideal position with power and water on hand thus saving time and significant money, I look for at least 2% which is $1.8 billion or £1.38 billion, so not too far out from £1 a share, especially if 2.25% is reached. If metal prices begin to pick up then it could be more.

The other £1 a share is simply the value I place on the likelihood given NM's expertise, that a good number of the other 70+ prospects will turn out to be rich.

If BHP bought Solg for $5 billion it would probably be the best deal they ever did, they would have metal for centuries, depending of course on their rate of extraction.

So I hold until a deal is done or my descendants get the benefit! NM might feel the same way?

Some would say price fell from 46p and was overpriced.
My opinion was it never fulfilled its potential at that time.
Company worth far more today.
Could easily reach £1 soon.
Only MHO.

I am afraid the article loses all its credibility if the writer doesn't do his research properly. Newcrest is an Aussie gold miner and Newmont a North American copper producer. Really!!
Having said that if Newmont wanted to come to the party they would be welcome....

Just to open up a bit of a weekend chat, could one of those who believe that the company is or could be worth £2 come up with a scenario as to how that might happen?

My, somewhat random, thinking would be that a new MRE could take the price to 40-50p, this could then bring out a bid at say 80p and someone comes over the top at 100p and that would be it. That could happen within say 12 months. For £2 to happen it would take longer and wouldn't a move up in price bring out the buyers before it gets there? The more key stakeholders there are the less likely this company will be around in say 2 years and the less likely we will see much above 100p.
Not saying 100p would be a problem!

Excellent article on copper market including commentary on Solgold

"...SolGold's Cascabel project seems to be getting to that size, so I think it is also an emerging acquisition target.

The SolGold CEO seems "eccentric", shall we say, but the dynamics are getting pretty interesting between Newmont Mining and BHP. A small cap Canadian vehicle with exposure to SolGold is Cornerstone Resources (TSXV: CGP). Cornerstone has a 15% stake in the Cascabel project and it owns about 10% of SolGold's shares. The team at Red Cloud calculate that the Cascabel stake and SolGold stake are worth about CAD$0.29 per Cornerstone share. I'm trying to pick Cornerstone shares up below CAD$0.20 as a way to play SolGold."

Yep, jone06, this will inevitably happen but that IMO will be a good sign as the share price will be heading up.

I’m happy to tolerate a few idiots if I’m making a truck load of money on Solg at the same time! Small price to pay;-)

Unfortunately if this takes off too fast the angry mob (rampers and shorters) will arrive and lower the general intellect of the board.
