Lowtrawler inspires an interesting question...

Does the market regard SOLG as a copper share, a gold share, a copper/gold share, a poly metallic share, or W.H.Y....?

Originally based on "Solomon Islands Gold", it has Gold in the name, but I bet its seen mainly as a copper share, even though Solgold's website says:

"An Emerging Copper Gold Major"

ATMO, Alpala is more copper than gold by value ($68m vs $47m) and the PFS is unlikely to change that.

Porvenir is similar, but Rio Amarillo might on its own might change that and you have other prospects such as Celen and La Hueva (copper and gold) while Timbara is described as "High Grade Gold"

So Lowtrawler regards SOLG as a 'gold share' and, like me, the exposure to gold, where the price prospects might be more explosive than the copper price in the short to medium term, makes it a core holding for me with the 'double bubble' opportunity of short term big gains (gold) followed by long term investment potential (copper)...

AIMO as usual and comments welcome...

GOLD: It is usually reported in grams per tonne (or g/t), although sometimes, in the US, it is in oz/ton. A gram of gold is worth about $25, so 2 grams or better would be viewed as high-grade for bulk tonnage mining. One hundred metres of good grade is again good criteria for thickness.

As a spectacular example, Aurelian Resources announced intercepts of 216 metres grading 12.8 grams gold/tonne from its Fruta Del Norte deposit in Ecuador, now owned by Lundin Gold. This result is truly exceptional in terms of grade and thickness, and propelled the stock from $2 to over $22 in 2006. However, this extreme grade and thickness only comes along once every 10 years or so.

COPPER: Anything over 100 metres and 1% copper equivalent or better is considered to be high-grade. For example, Serengeti Resources announced 119.6 metres of 0.9% copper equivalent (copper plus gold values added together) at depths from 180 to 300 metres. The stock then increased from $0.30 to $1.50 after those drilling results were reported.

will the anticipation of such results lead to a stampede of buyers at the close of trading?

I'm in 2 gold shares at the moment, SOLG and SHG. Both have gone backwards over the past week and yet I'm not even remotely concerned. The paper losses I have incurred exceed anything from my past but I haven't even considered adjusting my investments. The reason is simple, I believe the underlying value of both companies far exceeds the current share price and value will eventually out. In the case of SOLG, value creating events are imminent and so I hope to be celebrating in a month. With SHG, it will take longer.

@Colonel Drake:
"101k block at 36.3p nothing till 37p. Like I said are they worried about weekend..."
[11.33am, Fri, 23 Oct 2020]

"Book really thin after 37p with not a lot after that until the 1m block at 59p.
Are they expecting an intraday RNS? You*d think the 4m block would come back if they wanted to risk it and cap it." @11.44am, Fri, 23 Oct 2020]

[From Colonel Drake of London South East Solgold forum as there is no one commenting on L2 here]
--
@Colonel Drake with thanks: "Volume is modest but then that*s the only thing holding this back based on L2. Should higher buy volume suddenly come back then this is going to 41p quick unless they stack L2 when it breaks 38p. Not much stopping this getting to 38p at all. Just need some buy volume or AT*s on Ask and its gonna pop." @12;02 noon, 23.10.20

Solgold advertised price 35.95p to sell and 36.5p to buy +7.82% at 12 noon, Fri, 23 Oct 2020.

'Investors Chronicle - today 11:56

There are a couple of paragraphs on the future of copper miners in this weeks IC. SOLG is tipped as the most likely of the small copper miners to attract a bid.'

LF, it's why we're all here.I believe Nick will get the 3 blockbuster news items out next month and then do an equity raise sufficient for taking Porvenir and Rio through to PEA. The need for an equity raise will be partially what is holding the price back.

At a guess those working for the big hitters will all be career types and thus working to a 'system', so proofs will be required, thus assays and the PFS will be the rungs on the ladder. In the meantime if you believe the story of potential multiple tier 1's, and the possibility of over $1 trillions worth of metals in the ground, then this could be a better place for your money than sitting in a bank.

DD, the reason our outline funding is important is that it will be the first time that we have actual evidence for what proportion of the Alpala asset will generate returns for shareholders. I believe only around 30% of the asset is currently expected to deliver returns for shareholders. I believe outline funding will raise that expectation to 50% or more.If I am correct on my latter 2 points, it could add 60% to the value of Alpala in our share price.

Uncertainty holding it back.

DD, anticipation is different from delivering. I agree that the weakness indicates something is holding us back. I'm not convinced it is for the reasons you give. I don't have any real explanation for it but remain convinced that actual delivery of the 3 news items will take us to 50p and beyond. The only one of the three that I believe is in any doubt is what we find at Rio.

While we wait.............

“Love is not love which alters it when alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove: O no! It is an ever fixed mark that looks on tempests and is never shaken; it is the star to every wandering bark whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks within his bending sickle's compass come: Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, but bears it out, even to the edge of doom."

Jarega85, there are 3 blockbuster news announcements that will step change our price:1. PFS with outline funding2. Porvenir assay results and additional drill holes.3. First drill hole results at Rio AmarilloPersonally, I think all 3 will be in the first 3 weeks of November and our price will drift until the first of these. However, the PFS could be announced anytime and the assay results might be available end of next week.

The chart looks horrid and without news I think it is going to continue to drift. Always difficult to judge but with meaningful news not due until November, is it worth buying back in a weeks time at a lower price?I have already made a fantastic return on my original investment. Choices choices.GLA
