I think I read somewhere today that our three in house brokers were part of the seven market makers dealing in this share. If so they must be key to what happens to the SP

181k at 38p

Looks like they are trying to stop the price increasing .

On the buy side not much cover so 36p is possible which could be a nice buying opportunity

If you could be certain of CGP doing the sensible thing and accepting the bid, you could make a quick 12% buying them and taking your 11 SOLG shares next week. Trouble is, they seem intent on self destruction.

DD, I'll keep an open mind. I have been swayed by opinions that Newcrest themselves are vulnerable to a takeover and don't have the firepower to outgun the other majors. If we weren't before, we are rapidly becoming, the hottest target in mining.

I do hope NC are up for it! The more demand and competition the better it is for us.

Sensible opinions here as always.

LT - Don't discount Newcrest. They have a need (and have said so) to build a bigger presence in copper and in S America. Their miff at being passed over in the FNV streaming deal was as much that, as missing the chance of a streaming deal themselves to complement the one they paid over the odds for with Fruta del Norte.

Strange as it may sound, unless there is action from BHP / Newcrest, I can see us stuck at 40p for a few weeks. When we start to move, my next target is 70p likely in Q1. This assumes Porvenir remains positive. If Rio Amarillo kicks off, my next target is 100p. At this point the rule book goes out the window and we will be a sitting duck for a bid.

I agree we are way undervalued, just for Alpala still, never mind everything else as noted here by others.

Overbought might be technically, but I am not really into chart analysis. Fundamentally we are way undervalued, and with considerable corporate development and action we are continuing upward again soon

Mk, Alpala alone should be at 40p. It's difficult to be objective about what value to currently place on Porvenir but we are still at a price level where you buy Alpala and get everything else free.
