One in the eye for Cornerstone ! - How many of its shareholders will be switched to accept the bid ?

NOTE: My potential hostile bid horizon could be reached in the next 3 months if La Hueca exceeds expectations. If we have 3 proven major discoveries before the end of this year, and a 4th on the way, then the Majors will be falling over themselves for a piece of the action. If any bids do appear, the competition will ensure they are near the top of my price ranges.

Speculating on potential hostile bids and their pricing is fun but irrelevant unless a bid arrives. In the name of fun.....

Possible hostile bid price:

Yesterday 50p - 100p
Today 75p - 125p
CGP capitulate 85p - 135p
Porvenir Proven Tier 1 100p - 150p
La Hueca or Rio Amarillo another proven Tier 1 150p - 250p

Yes indeed !!

This is the kind of news we hoped and expected a while ago....but drill permits, money and of course now Covid has caused the delay.....anyway forward full steam now....

....remember last year or was it the year before !!.... La Hueca was NM's favourite for a gold deposit which could kickstart funding for other drilling and development......let's see what happens there....

MK, this is only the start of the fun.

Next important date is 14 October - what will CGP decide?
15 October - will BHP do anything on exiting standstill?
Late October - Assay results for Porvenir hopefully confirming todays visual assessment.
Anytime - update on La Hueca
November? - formal announcement on Rio Amarillo drilling commenced
Nov / Dec - PFS and outline financing
Dec - formal recognition of Porvenir as a 2nd Tier 1?
Dec / Jan - Rio Amarillo has an announcement similar to today's?

If CGP capitulate on October 14, the requisitioned meeting goes away together with the uncertainty surrounding that and our price will improve.

As Porvenir gets proved up, the likelihood of a hostile bid will increase. If La Hueca exceeds expectations or Rio Amarillo is the next Porvenir - a hostile bid will be near certain.

Just to say well done to the regulars who have been around for years . Looks like payback time for the agro in holding .

Level2 update

Nothing much to stop the rise maybe 31.50 a few but with the volume today could reach 35p .

There's enough projects here for the majors to share them around. No need to be just NCM or GOLD that takes it out

Arcadian, I put it down to short term traders probably geared up, so their strategy is very short term, and a profit is a profit. 15% or 20% in 24 hours is a big win if you're lucky with your timing, or have inside info. I hope we now get a steady stream of drilling news that fleshes out Solgs best prospect sites.

There had been a lot of investors from 30p - 32p last year who may have felt caught on a rollercoaster and relieved to exit at break even. Personally, I think anyone selling today is nuts.

Thanks Pob. Now imagine if Barrick waded into the fray guns ablaze! That really would put a cat amongst the pigeons and ignite some serious fireworks.

Musing about who else could be interest in Solgold....

Maybe $BHP but how about Barrick which if you may recall intends to Sell Stake in Morila to Focus on Tier One Assets

TORONTO — Barrick Gold Corporation (NYSE:GOLD)(TSX:ABX) and AngloGold Ashanti Limited (JSE:ANG)(NYSE:AU) have agreed to sell their 80% interest in the Morila gold mine in Mali to Mali Lithium Limited....

.... This would allow Barrick to focus on its strategy of discovering, developing, owning and operating Tier One1 assets. The parties are targeting the closing of the deal before end of October 2020.

This is definitely happening but I`m amazed at the amount of sell on the news.
The current price is irrelevant when one considers the impact of this news on those assessing the potential of the whole acreage.

The RNS gives a maximum chalcopyrite concentration by volume (visual only) of 6% with both pyrite and molybdenite present but no estimate of concentration. As Chalcopyrite is 34.5% Cu this gives us over 2% Cu, plus they expect a 1% Cu to 1 g/T gold ratio so also over 2 g/T gold at maximum. The last Porvenir RNS gave a conversion ratio of 0.751 to convert g/T gold to Cu equivalent. So they are looking at over 3.5% Cu equivalent as the maximum predicted grade in this drill core.

Amazing grade for a section of the first drill hole which they think missed the porphyry core.

Drilling at about 35m per day, can't wait to see how far the visual ore continues for, and then analysis for the first 500m in 3 weeks time.

I'm not a geologist and these are pretty visuals with some exciting words around them. However, it appears on track to be bigger than Alpala as previously implied by Nick and other SOLG senior management. Assay results later this month and 6 drilling rigs suggest we will confirm our next tier 1 by the end of the year.In this context, the price increase still looks muted.
