"Abrogate its agreement with cosl for the supply of a jack up rig for the drilling programme on the ororo field ,oml95"

The above isFrom the rns astral,if they thought it necessary to rns the abrogation of the agreement for the supply of the rig ,surely it would be necessary to rns the termination of Cosl Being in the consortium.?.unless of course they havent terminated Cosl,s involvement in the consortium.

26.2But it's a fair point and one I will certainly consider going forwards.I was under the misguided thought that we were on the boards to help each other, rather than dig each other out, ho hum, should have known better. Might have guessed clueless alfi would show up. Yeah, right, must be all hot air eh and COSL Force will be turning up in Nigeria next week/month eh. Well don't hold yer breath.Ooops, IMO, before I get jumped on again.Saw this headline in the news section, could be a clue in that, I wonder? IMO for good measure!!!'Sirius Petroleum Inks New Orero Rig Deal, Cancels Old Pact Amid Delay'

astral..sirius has seen the back of force in my view but i believe it will be utilised in nigeria drilling a pipeline of assets.

Some people may know stuff but just can’t say how they know on a public board. Probably best not to say it on a public board in the first place if that’s the case. That’s not a dig at Astral by the way. Many of us have been here long enough to know that nothing we’ve ever heard about Sirius has come true anyway so it’s all just guesswork.

Well, after a lot of noise and nothing much said, it appears to me that astralvision does not have anything to back up his claim that COSL will no longer have any dealings with Sirius.

If we are going to be drilling soon then we should be getting some further updates in the next 2-3 weeks so not long to wait. Just hope the total pathetic lack of volume we have seen lately does not coincide with another failed drilling deadline.

Hey Bronislav, as much as I enjoy a good spar, this is getting boring now.
We're all allowed to change our minds in the light of events you know!
Some folks can change their mind over a few days!

'it's only my opinion but I don't think Nigeria has not seen the last of the COSL FORCE'

I will leave it at that, more important things to do, hopefully be something more interesting to discuss on here soon than who said what when
Have a nice day.

Astral..i have thrown many scenarios in the mix because the company has ,in my view been less than transparent ,some i have called right some i have called wrong.I dont keep track of everything that is said on here but i do notice the things that stand out and your denial of another rig was quite specific.Everything is in place according to the"good to go "statement from the company around december of last year ,if its good to go then get a spud date out sirius would be my request.

Well done to you for keeping track of who says what, as every situation under the sun has been covered on here, inc by yourself, that's some going.
Not that it matters a flying fig, but I do recall saying recently re rigs that a plan B would be a good idea and so it has proved.
Well, we will see re Force.
Unsurprisingly 'we hope to drill' will be the case till we drill, capitals or not.

Astral..the suggestion of another rig was laughed at and I recall your post saying something on the lines of it wouldn't happen but IT DID.
it's only my opinion but I don't think Nigeria has not seen the last of the COSL FORCE.
Once the hold up that Sirius has been plagued by is cleared I suspect we will then see a spud date ,until such time we will keep getting the WE HOPE TO DRILL rhetoric.

You mean like an official rns or a company statement? I'm afraid not.
As I said before, that's the situation, take it or leave it, you're welcome either way but you ain't going to see COSL working with SRSP anytime soon. Oh, tell you what, I will put 'imo' in and everyone should be happy now.
After the run around and sheer farce of the last 6 months, in the absence of any other info, does anyone seriously think COSL would still be in the running for anything?

Htrocka....the three year permit .
Do you have anything to back up your claim that the permit will not be extended?

Astralvision ...do you have anything to back up your claim that COSL are no longer part of the consortium?

I simply ask Astral direct questions as he seems very close to the board and he doesn't like it so I'm filtered..Its fine though..

Didn't know I'd been 'hammered' , as I have bumhammer on filter. Never contributes anything of note anyway.Sound reasons is enough, it ain't too hard to work out.And the proof of the pudding is you ain't going to see COSL working with the srsp consortium any time soon.Take it or leave it, fine by me.

I see Astra's being unfairly 'hammered...I'll try and back him up on this one.

The COSL debacle lies with Ondo State...in short, they left it too late.(the timing was unfortunate). The drilling contract was signed on November 16th 2016 and on the 27th of November Ondo State got a new Governor....who, although acknowledges the States claim to both OML 95 and OPL 241, did not recognise any deals made by the previous incumbent, ie, Dr,Mimimko, Owena Oil and Gas, the 100% State owned vehicle, Guarantee Petroleum and Dr Mimimko's own company, Owena Energy .....that's the bad news....the good news is that some one must have knocked some sense into AKEREDOLU, the present State Governor, because even he, being advised by an ex NNPC CEO, has come to the conclusion that unless Ororo is drilled under the current permit, ALL parties involved with this project will lose everything, including Ondo State, if the permit, which will not be extended this time, lapses due to failure to drill.

After srsp first signed the original COSL drilling contract in November 2016,the new Governor, who was sworn in February 2017, announced "legal and technical issues surrounding Owena Oil and Gas and Owena Energy'....In my opinion, I'm sure COSL did their DD and that's why they didn't drill. OK, the 'can has been kicked down the road'.....but at least the drill is on.

( Although I've researched this, I might as well add caveats..)

Nothing official to say that COSL are no longer part of the consortium. RNS simply states that they won`t be spudding the first well.

"there are very sound reasons for that"

Can you please tell us what they are Astral?

investors are a fickle lot, imo, and it would be no surprise at the first sign of action that folks are falling over themselves to buy in at what I hope will be a greater share price than the current one.
It's always the trickiest thing to buy in when interest is low. Add in the track record is not exactly stellar, so the current situation is not really too surprising.

The COSL fiasco was unfortunate, to say the least, but there we go ,it's in the past and we move forwards. Never say never, but I don't expect COSL to make any sort of re-appearance, there are very sound reasons for that!
