Not much tugging going on around the Adriatic I at the moment. Expect to see a AHTS (Anchor Handling / Tug / Supply Ship) in close proximity to the rig when she is ready to move. The only AHTS that's nearby just now is the Ugbana, but I don't think she is in the area for the Adriatic.

I`d expect the appropriate osvs to be provided by Tidewater. Not much point in agreeing a contract with them otherwise.

Bobo did say the rig was in the Niger Delta ...so not far to tow ( it could do with a lick of paint....the poor old girl looks like a 'rust bucket'... still, as long as it has a current operational ticket and is good to go.) (I'd say the towing distance is about 130 miles...at a guess...2/3 days)

In keeping with qpr's theme, and just for interest, here's a video of a rig move taken from the lead ship, an anchor-handler / tug, towing the Atwood Orca in Thailand Gulf. Shows what's involved in connecting and disconnecting the tow wires. Notice the big roller on the stern of the anchor-handling vessel (like the Ugbana) which is required to allow the anchor to come on board. Ordinary supply ships (i.e. floating lorries) don't have this roller, but have a rail across the stern.

All this talk re we need two tugs made me wonder if one was sufficient? If you google it you see pictures of one tug pulling a rig, in some there are two smaller vessels (offshore supports?)also helping out. Might Busy Bee and two offshore supports for a short trip over shallow inshore waters?

Hi drrichardNo problems, although not sure if it's wise for srsp to release info such as ETA rig, sets a precedent and perhaps hard progress such as spud is more important at this juncture, all imo.Bottom line is we can reasonably although still cautiously look forwards to the remainder of this year.
