Might be pure coincidence but COSL sister Company, COSCO has their HLV Zing Zang Zou (or similar name) arriving in Dubai on Friday. Is Friday, D day?

Twentysixpointtwo...I believe the UK meets 43 percent of its needs from our own gas fields with 13per cent coming by tanker as LNG.The other 44percent comes by pipeline from Europe in particular Norway. This is only what I have read so percentages may vary depending on the information source.

The EU doesn’t really export much gas Bron. Most EU countries seem to get their gas from Russia and Norway. The Germans particularly rely on Mr Putin. Given the state of UK/Russian relationships recently I’d agree with your suggestions to have reliable alternatives.

Sherlock.whether or not it involves Sirius I do feel the UK needs to get it's act together with our gas supply. To rely on Europe is no longer an option as Europe wouldn't have to supply us once Brexit is completed. At times last winter our reserves were tested to the limit and the scenario whereby we cannot switch the heating on or cook food is not a situation any government would like to wake up to...The southern North sea has gas but progress there has been woefully slow..West Africa is the obvious source of a safe reliable supply alongside our other sources. The silence from the board and lack of rns,s in particular the state of the alledged rig suggests a confidence from the board that the unrest and annoyance of shareholders will soon be sullied on eventual revelations.

I agree with you on this being gas focused & very large scale, less so on the need for PIGB and I’m open minded about UK supply...albeit I wonder if BP will be more focused currently on their Far East customers who seem to have an increasingly voracious appetite for gas. Perhaps the hydrocarbons can satisfy multiple export geographies as well as domestic.

Haha sherlock buhari on the beach with his knotted hanky and wellies.and an ice cream with a flake in the top, whilst the PIGB that has taken years to get through the senate is sat on his desk, not sure about that one .The sneaking off to the docters doesn't fit for me ,as if he was so ill that he constantly comes to England for treatment why would he be running for a second term?As for the gas I have a few theories on where that will be going and how but not for the bulletin board.Only guesswork though so until we hear something from Sirius that's all we can do ,guess.

Bronislav - Looks like concerted selling over the course of the rig delay / potentially exacerbated further by the new EU spreadbet regulations, meant a gradual erosion of the bid leading to a sharper fall yesterday as some panicked and stop losses were hit. MMs likely took advantage of this and made a lot of £. Hopefully a new price platform around 0.7p is created and we begin to build again.

On the question of UK gas that you’ve raised recently, what are your thoughts regarding transportation and the likely timescales? I wonder if gaining a greater portion of NLNG and its train 7 expansion is more practical if that is the UK Gov’ts agenda? Buhari might also be secretly meeting his doctors again rather than on any official business. Perhaps he just enjoys Cornwall for his holidays?!

‘At the stroke of the pen, in 1979, Nigeria, 'nationalised' all of BP's assets’

It wasn’t quite as dramatic as this sounds. During the 70’s all IOCs had undergone a gradual increasing NNPC equity participation as Nigeria looked to take more direct control in its oil industry.

During the decade all international oil companies were moved from 35% Nigerian interest to 60%, albeit Shell-BP moved to 80% Nigerian owned, probably because at the time the BP element of the consortium was still part owned by the British gov’t and hence the final drive to fully nationalise in 1979 was seen partly as a political move to rid of any vestiges of colonialism.

Not all of BP’s business was affected by the nationalisation (interestingly they retained interest in an early LNG project that was later disbanded) and under international law they were adequately compensated for their loss in crude oil & payments. Shell-BP then basically became SPDC, which still exists today.

I read qprallan's post this morning...and wondered why the importance of signing the PIGB and it's possible consequence to IOC's in Nigeria.

'The rejection of the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) by stakeholders in the Niger Delta raises questions of parliamentary responsibility and people’s civic duty...'

Various entities are complaining against the signing of the PIGB...BP, with whom we have a draw down facility, is of particular concern. At the stroke of the pen, in 1979, Nigeria, 'nationalised' all of BP's assets.....The Non signing voice is getting louder....and the IOC's have long memories....hence the need for clarification.

Siriously. Thanks for clearing that up ,the question arises that Bobo has claimed in interviews that we would have oil by summer 2017 and was that really credible so what the board tell us to a degree is not something we can wholly trust.

Bronislav - Bobo gave a very, very clear "no" answer at the AGM when asked if the signing of the PIGB by President Buhari had any impact for Sirius. The questioner then made clear that "for the sake of clarity" this was asked in regard to Ororo AND all/any other business objectives or assets and again the 1 word answer from Bobo was "no". It was the clearest answer of the day and I was there and heard the exchange for myself.

PIGB doesn't effect us drilling ororo. But does it effect us selling or transporting the products away from Nigeria? a company sell off? Other assets? When I read your guys posts on this it's like they CAREFULLY worded that response. Then again it could be just a black and white fact on what they say is bang to rights that the pigb has literally absolute no effect or relevance to Srsp at all. I would have preferred this response from them.

This company has been broken promises from day one what with that utter bellend Regan and Corvus all over it - from the bright lights of Tony Hayward with his glowing Afren (remember them?!) cv promising riches from untapped marginal fields, to the phantom $80m Swiss funding that never was, to the Rencap mob joining the fray, a number of ‘passing through’ CEO’s and the OPL licences that must be in the most difficult place on earth to find, considering how every other bloody OPL seems to have progressed further - and of course, how could one not include the main man Dr Rosso, leading the BB’s with such gusto one could forgive themselves for thinking he might just be ‘attached̵7; in some way...
