One imagines that Schlum will still be doing a lot of very critical stuff here (and perhaps more than has been revealed so far) regardless of who actually provides the rig. Likely also that they wouldn't have openly signed up already if it all purely came down to the PIB. Nearly there now and not long until we finally reach our long-awaited goal - Are you ready to be blown away?! Get that champagne on ice as I don't think there's any stopping this now, even if the PIB is further kicked down the road.... which doesn't seem likely judging from the various news sources.

Gone are the days when people here were even questioning our very survival. I suspect those selling at a penny will also soon regret this, just as those selling at previous lower prices will have done (I know someone who offloaded over 20m at 0.3-0.4p - ouch!). My bets are still on stuff being revealed that will completely surprise the market and many lth's. In already having a few of the key pieces of the jigsaw however, you can get a sense of what the overall picture looks like, especially when you consider some of the current technical and commercial innovation across other O&G supply chains elsewhere.

In? Out? Considering buying here....? Better be quick with that decision! Potentially not long now until it becomes very difficult indeed to secure a decent amount of shares, regardless of price. Currently no other company has anything like the degree of variance between our share price & the potential. Hats off to the BoD.

Just a quick comment on the $21bn Chevron 'investment' to drill more wells. My own opinion is that with the introduction of anti flaring and gas conservation of the 'Master Gas Plan', Chevron already had wells up and running, however, as a result of the latest gas legislation my belief is that the 21bn was to help bring the gas side of the drilled wells up to speed and the joint venture was a form of state aid 'imposed' on the IOC's. The article is dated 10/04/'15. Looking at the time frame, SRSP gets approval to drill 2A on 03/11/'15 and is referred to as an Appraisal well,...then, later on, 18/07/'16 a new permit has been allocated, this time for a gas well, ie, three wells. The point being, because of the time frame and the change in drilling permits.....is it possible that SRSP themselves have obtained some form of State Aid?

ps.
from the website..
'The long awaited Petroleum Industry Bill ("PIB"), which has been in development for a decade under the previous administration, is likely to be passed into law in a relatively short time. This will remove the uncertainty that resulted in billions of dollars of withheld investment....

We hope that the regulatory changes within Nigeria will make it more attractive to the international community and allow indigenous companies to participate in substantial opportunities in Nigeria's oil and gas sector.'

No problem Schlum/COSL working together. COSL supplies the rig(s), whilst Schlum is i/c ISPM managing the drilling technology.

As for satellite cluster field funding. Project Cheetah.

I've a gut feeling that Schlumberger will end up with a large chunk of SRSP. They haven't been in from the start......just to make a few quid....added to which there are a few more 'partners' to pay out of the oil income. Remember the Road Show board....'Schlumberger to drill Ororo'...that's out of the window, COSL are now doing that job. Could this be part of the hold up?

Because the linked Chevron marginal satellite fields in this overall Ororo/95 220mmboe Project, initially 30k mmboepd, won't be production ready until around August. June drilling commencement on O2 fits the coordinated production schedule perfectly. No delays, all going acc to plan.

Shell Malaysia and Petronas each have a 50 % interest in the E11 Hub Integrated Gas Project. Sarawak Shell operates E8, a key component of the E11 Hub Integrated Gas project operated by Shell Malaysia. Production from surrounding fields goes to the E11 complex for processing before being delivered onshore via pipeline to the Petronas LNG complex at Bintulu.
One of five fields developed to ensure supply to the LNG complex, E8 made the E11 complex the biggest gas production facility in terms of volume in Sarawak waters. The other four fields are E11, F23, F6, and F13.
The other E11 satellite gas field developments, F13 West and F13 East, are expected to come on stream within 3 years.

2 similar projects. E11 LNG = O2 CNG/heavy hydrocarbons

I agree Bron. Why didn't the company commence with a subsea survey as soon as Add Energy was signed up ?

Signed up before AGM and still not drilled, these companys dont dawdle, they are up there as the best in the world. They are stalling.Once the PIB passes then see what happens.Lets do a subsea survey and then pick a rig from the other side of the world.

Exactly, Avent. Survey finished? You would hope so. COSL sent data- could be. How long to choose a rig? Three weeks to get it here from the Far East, less so if they reassign a more local one.
You would hope for a "we are on track" RNS soon

Everyone is signed up HTROCKA...Lots of drilling going on in Nigeria so to my mind it is something of significance holding things up ,question is what are they holding up ?sirius would have us believe that they would of drilled years ago but we're just 5 million short ,so drilling would not have been held up by the PIB...Fourth partner in the wings waiting ,or a number of possible fourth partners ,sounds fairly obvious to me .

Bron... there may be new tax implication with the oncoming PIGB hence the possible problematic allocation of the 88% to each partner...so the company have adopted a cautious 'wait and see' policy.

With respect to Aventador's reposting of the rns..is all very well but one needs to read in between lines and dissect the grammar...allow me to give you a case in point.*note the difference between the two...

The FTSA
If Sirius decides to proceed to field development, Sirius will be entitled to a 40 per cent. interest in the Ororo field, jointly operating the field with Guarantee and Owena, and Sirius will fund 100 per cent. of the development costs. Upon production of oil,.....'
Subject to satisfactory completion of the preliminary works programme......'

.Commenting, Dr. Samuel Omobomi, Chairman of Guarantee Petroleum, said: "We look forward to developing the Ororo Field to first oil with Sirius Petroleum and Owena Oil & Gas and concluding the initial work programme on our shallow offshore asset."

Samuel Ombomi slips in a couple of sub clauses, ie, 'to first oil'....and 'concluding the initial work programme'

The very subtle difference between Owena's 'Initial', 'concluding' and SRSP's 'preliminary' interjection, where as the definition of 'preliminary' being..

'preceding or done in preparation for something fuller or more important:'

The bottom line...Owena give the impression that they are about to reach the end of a predetermined goal whereas SRSP imply that this will be the beginning of their ultimate goal. .Owena implies 'end of the beginning'.(initial, concluding')..srsp, the beginning of the end.(preceding something more important.)
