03/12/2008 09:59 | 95million for a company making annualised profits of 10m isn't a big problem. The net assets number is irrelevent (if I buy a van for 20k and then earn 40k a year moving stuff around is my business only worth 20k). But the rest is truly shocking. Is a bust Russian really an asset? | bohemia
03/12/2008 09:58 | Investing in Russia is easy, only one thing you need to know, that is "dont" | velvetide
03/12/2008 09:56 | How did I miss that one, I am normally long on them stocks,,,I must be losing me touch. | chesty1
03/12/2008 09:56 | chesty1. 400p to 12p..... so far this morning the Mm's have not wanted to know...they are staying away from supporting the price just yet, and until they do it will not bounce... Also - I wonder if funds will be required to reduce their holdings based on the new business model - oil funds do not hold property companies... | sportbilly1976

03/12/2008 09:48 | Its amazing how short sighted people can be - This is not a position I would put sibir in if I had the choice - but people are looking for short term returns, look further out and I can see incredible value and oppotunities that would not be available until the financial crisis occured. This could be the making of sibir 5 - 10 years from now - could you imagine buying premium parts of London at knock down prices then when the economy turns around years down the line the vast profits that could be made. The decision is a difficult one and carrys risks as with all businesses, but I see a good long term investment - further out, wake up and smell the coffee this carries a true risk reward proposal, Not for widows and orphans but I will be investing but not until the dust settles - a great oppotunity seriously undervalued providing the world carries on as we know it. 03/12/2008 09:45 | This will be a great buy once the dust settles. But not for now. I would have been interested to know what the effect on the share price would have been if he'd tried to dump his shares on the market. #57% of the entire company with his partner Perhaps the most crushing point re the short term share price is this " Delay in move the Official List Sibir has taken such steps in order preserve its shareholder structure and its position as a fully integrated oil and gas company in Russia. Sibir will now concentrate on the continued growth of its oil and gas business and consolidation and integration of its recently acquired, and to be acquired, real estate holdings into a newly formed real estate division of the Company. Due to this and the current turbulence in the financial markets Sibir plans to delay the move to the Official List of the London Stock Exchange until further notice. " Keeping a watchful eye on this for the future | madjock2
03/12/2008 09:39 | No RB just had it on my watch list as I thought it had got v.cheap. Just shows sometimes there is a reason a stock has got cheap, just hope that is no true of MOG. | soulsauce
03/12/2008 09:39 | CHESTY, I'll make the decision for you here, leave WELL alone. Any company that spends ninety million on a company worth 7m and with only revenue of 7m PA has to be stupid. This guy must have some kind of hold over SIBIR, there can't be any other reason. | ju1cester
03/12/2008 09:37 | >soulsauce Are you in this too? You have my sympathies after watching MOG Collapse aswell . | rbonnier |
