18/11/2008 11:35 | I see that JP Morgan started coverage on Sibir. They have neutral for Sibir with a price target of 315p. Their coverage talked about cash flow but mentioned price of oil at about $75. | eug
17/11/2008 21:51 | Reading through the interims again. Looks good. Found this, "Our prognosis is that the Jurassic reservoirs which are our targets at between 2900 and 3200 meters depth thicken towards the west and the last two wells drilled have confirmed this prognosis. It is too early to predict the extent of our success, but we are gaining in confidence that our prognosis is sound and intend to announce the results of our drilling and an independent interpretation of these results in the next six weeks." So close to Xmas should have results | eug
17/11/2008 18:53 | The Russians have terrible memories of conditions in 1998 when their economy collapsed and the rouble was devalued. So they stop investing or spending and buy dollars instead to keep under the mattress, probably the best way to collapse their economy again in fact. The big boys meanwhile make sure their money is safely out of the country as dollars in foreign banks. Strange looking at the SBE chart how the unexpected sudden push above 800p earlier this year was in fact the precursor to the current unbelievable fall. It will be a buy at some point but not for some time yet in my opinion. | kibes
17/11/2008 14:00 | I thought I posted earlier that the export taxes are reviewed 3-monthly (?) and they were to be changed to 1-monthly. I think you might find that they are to be reduced but they are still currently lagging causing short-term losses. | yf23_1
