My £39.99 buy was definitely a sale, a decent pair of branded hiking shoes with £5 online discount. :)
RRP £72.99! 👟👟

Feels like it's been a long time since the last special dividend (in 2019)! I know good stock levels and being debt free are important, but still... :))

No debt is a great help at a time of rising interest rates. A well run profitable business in the right place at the right time.

Perhaps they should rename themselves 'ShoeBrands' to entice Waitrose & M&S shoppers ;)

Is this the Aldi/Lidl effect? Selling decent quality shoes side-by-side with cheap stuff now, so I suspect middle class shoppers no longer worry about the shopping environment if they can get the shoes they want at a better price... if so, this boost may last longer than the current recession...

Felixstowe back to normal the last couple of days, further action not out of the questions but over for now. At least shoes aren't perishable with an 8 day import delay.

See under 2. - it's not an acquisition, it's "An event changing the breakdown of voting rights" - ie the buyback reduced the total number of voting rights, pushing his holding over 24%.

Chairman Charles Smith increased to 24.05% from 23.87%, edit - as a result of share buybacks.

Yes I think that is right. He thinks it is cheap.

I'm optimistically hoping for a lower price to buy more.
