21/2/2023 08:07 | I can't recall where I got that date from which is why I asked the question but I'll post again if I do. The AGM is surely a rubber stamping exercise re the proposed dividend. Normally when the amount and payment date (22 Mar 23) has been named the proposed XD date would also be known but maybe not in this case. Edit - I've just noticed that Dividend Max has Thursday 9 March down for the XD date so that does coincide with the AGM. | bountyhunter
20/2/2023 22:45 | The AGM's not till the 9th March which will surely be the driver for an ex-divi date ? | bareknee
20/2/2023 19:38 | As far as I'm aware the ex- date has not been announced. Where did you see 2nd March? | zangdook
20/2/2023 18:31 | Re divi incl special of 11.5p payable 22nd March, XD 2nd March, is that correct re the XD date? | bountyhunter
26/1/2023 15:16 | what date is that wolf ? | arab3

17/1/2023 22:04 | This company goes from strength to strength. I was lucky enough to get in @69p towards the end of last February. I have a comparison thread on my CARD thread which shows SHOE as the winner over the last week (as it has been over a longer timeframe as well). | bountyhunter
17/1/2023 14:26 | I presume hsduk means p/e ratio rather than eps zangdook. However, if you strip out the exceptionals of 2.4 million GBP from the recent results then eps drops from 21.7p to 17.9p. So, based on a current share price of 260p, historic p/e is ~12 including exceptionals, or 14.5 excluding them. So, not expensive and additionally, there was more than 20 million net cash reported compared to a market cap of ~125 million, but, even so, I decided to reduce my holding a bit today. | bareknee
17/1/2023 12:20 | Why is low earnings per share nice? | zangdook
16/1/2023 15:52 | EPS is nice and low at the moment. I'm working it out that it sits between 8-11 | hsduk101
16/1/2023 15:16 | This feels like a buffet stock. Very easy to understand. Currently up 60%. | orchestralis
12/1/2023 11:12 | OT but always interesting to hear others' ideas of opportunities if you feel inclined to share | zangdook
12/1/2023 11:09 | Small topslice at 240this am. Some excellent other opportunities at the moment and released cash for that. But will be holding the bulk long term | fegger
12/1/2023 11:03 | Some interesting points from the RNS: Good news. Pensions are a complex area and probably wise not to state it as an asset but great that (on an accounting basis) there is no longer a deficit: ''The pension liability in the schemes reduced by £7.7m to a surplus of £1.8m (2021: deficit £5.9m). We show a zero position on the balance sheet due to the effect of an asset ceiling. The reduction is due to an increase in bond yields which reduces the value placed on the scheme's liabilities and positive assumption moves in mortality rates. This is partially offset by lower than expected investment returns and a rise in future inflation expectations.' 500'000 shares bought back .'The Company started a share buy-back programme in August 2022 and as at the Period end had purchased 955,813 shares (of which 500,000 had been cancelled with the balance held in treasury) at an average price of £1.79 equating to a spend of £1.7m. The buy-back programme will continue for the foreseeable future.' This means that the share count for the Company should be reduced from 50 million to 49.5 million. Therefore all earnings to be paid out to 1% less shares and ongoing to less as they continue to buy back shares. Therefore enhancement to earnings per share! | fegger
12/1/2023 09:26 | The payment date has already been given: It is proposed that a final dividend of 3.3 pence per share will be paid on 22 March 2023 based on a 40% pay-out ratio. The Board is also proposing an additional special dividend of 8.2 pence per share (paid on 22 March 2023) Final and special dividends have to be agreed by shareholders at the AGM, but it's normal to announce all the relevant dates at the time dividends are announced, in advance of the AGM. | zangdook
12/1/2023 08:41 | Regarding the dividend question raised above, the FR RNS is clear that the Final and Special dividends are proposed, ie not yet agreed by Board. Such agreement is presumably very highly likely. After Board approval there will be an RNS confirming ex-/record-/payment dates. | spin doctor
11/1/2023 20:18 | More retail sales means more shoe leather worn out; no wonder shoe is doing brilliantly on the back of the wider high street recovery and end of the pandemic generally when most can't afford to go to Clarks any more. | bountyhunter
11/1/2023 14:55 | thanks guys and i should have noticed it was AIM stock and all are free of that obnoxious SD i think :) . Wide spread a bit off putting but I have DMA and can maybe get between the spread . Wish i could get a full list of other LSE none aim stocks where no SD payable but LSE did not answer my emails. I have found about a dozen and GLEN and S32 are included and makes day or overnight trading easy with the £3 commission . :) | arja
11/1/2023 14:45 | SHOE's on AIM arja, and isn't one of the exceptions - so no stamp duty to day edit : beaten to it ! | bareknee
